We met with Keith Baxter and told him what we wanted but we were open to suggestions based on his experience.  He designed an addition and showed us what the house would look like on a computer. Being able to visualize the finished project was the critical step that provided us with the comfort level to move forward.
Once the project started it could not have gone better. They built a temporary internal wall so that when the exterior brick wall was removed, the interior remained clean, livable and secure.  The workers were prompt, very professional and extremely polite and every evening they would thoroughly clean-up the job site, especially when they were working inside our home. They also kept us informed as to the status of the project.
The quality of Baxter's work is second to none. They do not cut corners and they listen to what you say. They also did a tremendous job of blending in the new construction with the original house. We gave Keith one directive before we signed the contract. We did not want the addition to look like an addition once it was completed and that is exactly what he did.
As for price, we initially thought the estimate was a little high but we also believe you get what you pay for.  After seeing the end result and the quality of the work, we have no problem with the price.
While we have been thrilled with the outcome, the comments we have received from family and friends makes it even better. Everyone is amazed at how a small addition, we added approximately 100 square feet with a walk-in bay window, has completely changed the look of the entire first floor of the house. To sum it up, they did a fantastic job.
