Our most recent project with Vara, Inc, involved a redo of our living room including: new furniture arrangement, new carpeting, new upholstered furniture, some reupholstered furniture, painting and special-effect painting, crown molding, artwork, and accessories. Additionally, Laura designed new window treatments, and a special throw pillow for and quot;myand quot; chair. The room turned out beautifully!
Laura also did some smaller projects in our foyer, and powder room. Her painter Julie painted the grout on the foyer floor and made the ceramic tile match the new carpet better - plus made the tile look new! She put a granite countertop, new window treatment, and crown molding in our tiny powder room, transforming it. She recovered our dining room chairs, and helped us find a fabulous new kitchen table and chairs - rather pricey, but very sturdy and of high quality.
Upstairs we painted and replaced carpeting in several areas. Laura rearranged the furniture in the master bedroom. She merged two smaller closets into one large walk-in closet, which also helped with better furniture placement in the master bedroom. She added a pocket door to access a small sitting room from the master bedroom. The sitting room now has a French door, leading to our small balcony. There are gorgeous floor to ceiling bookshelves topped with crown molding, and a sewing table with a drawer and shelves - all carefully constructed by her wonderful carpenter Andy. We added a hide-in-the-wall ironing board, as well. We love our master suite! All of the projects described (plus a few more) were completed during our most recent venture with Vara, Inc.
A wonderful thing about Laura is she allows one to be as hands on (or not!) as one desires. She is willing to reuse and/or repurpose items that are still serviceable, rather than getting rid of everything (unless you want to!). This practice helps one to most efficiently use available funds.
Finally, Laura works with you as the project progresses, and allows you to add to the project and make changes as you see the need. She also amazes me at how knowledgeable she is about all aspects of her projects. She thinks nothing of pulling out her drill and hammer, and climbing up a stepladder to do something. Laura is a perfectionist, with an eye for details, and won't be happy until you are!
