$3,108
I was in an accident where I was rear-ended by a truck. My vehicle was totaled. The fault was 100% that of the truck driver. No one contested that. State Auto was the truck company insurer. My experience with them was absolutely horrible. Caroline Veahman was the Claim Representative. My own insurance company (Amica) sent  a licensed appraiser to look at the car who valued it at $3,108. Ms. Veahman herself appraised my car and her first offer for my vehicle was $2,055. When I refused to accept that, I received a letter raising the offer to $2,825. Just like that, they raised it.  It seemed to me that the first offer was a blatant attempt to cheat me. I refused to accept the second offer, choosing instead to accept the offer from my own insurance company. They informed me that they were reimbursed in total by State Auto. The whole episode left me with a very poor impression State Auto and their ethics.
