I got about 6 estimates for this work ranging from $2,500 to "not less than ten grand" (I assume ADM Electic did not want this work). Will's estimate came in at $3,500, which was the second cheapest estimate. The entire house took about 5 days, despite the fact that Will had stated that it could take up to two weeks (This was a pleasant surprise). He was very careful to drill as few holes as necessary, and in fact left essentially no holes in the walls of the 2nd story (he ran the wires for the ceiling of the 2nd story through the floor of the attic). A few circuits were added for some of the more power-hungry appliances. About 3 days in, he suggested that we upgrade the panel to accomodate the new circuits. Because he was already working there, he offered to do it for $500 (much cheaper than any estimates I'd seen before). In addition, he replaced it with a Square-D QO box (He referred to it as "...the Cadillac of circuit panels."). I would have liked for the exposed wiring (we have a full unfinished basement) to be done a bit more uniformly. I've seen electicians run wires in nice neat straight lines. Also, it was very messy and I recommend decluttering if you're going to get your house rewired...cleanup took an entire day, and the dust continues to settle. Overall, I was satisfied with the work, and one month out, I continue to be satisfied.
