This was a fairly big job. After the installation, before he left the building, we saw that there were some imperfections. The technician said he'll come back and fix it and he never did anything. A year later we noticed that the bar top was lifting up and was difficult to put a glass down with a drink. We've called him several times and he actually came out once and was told he'll help us but, again, we haven't heard from him.

They completely re-did our back porch, which was in rough shape.  they sanded and re-stained flowing, built a knee wall and benches, and put in clear screens throughout so we can enjoy our view of the woods.  
They've also done a variety of work for us such as painting, trimming, converted a closet to a kitchen pantry, installation of appliances, and other fixit jobs around the house. We generally called them for about anything and everything for the first 2 years in the house!  
They were timely, clean, and professional the whole way through. They are not as easy to line up for quick jobs over the past year or so, as they've become more busy - but if you can get them you'll like them!

Having owned this house for almost nine years we have had issues arise, but have never hired a contractor more than once. I don't think we are particularly hard to work for, but found it nearly impossible to find someone that wasn't cutting corners or overcharging. We have come to dread any type of repair or construction project. So let me try to convey to you our pleasant surprise when working with Kane Finishing. They were there when they said they would be there. They stayed in constant communication. They knew what they were doing. They cleaned up after themselves. They were done ahead of schedule.

We hired them after our basement flooded and we needed to replace wall paneling, shims, insulation, and trim. We considered just doing it ourselves because of our past experiences with contractors. SO GLAD WE DIDN'T. Not only did they fix the basement up better than it was before (and probably stopped some marital issues that always occur during "renovation bickering" lol) they also ended up doing some other projects we added on, such as a bathroom vent fan and an interior door installation.  Additionally, they checked some receptacles for us, and get this, offered to let us call them so they could walk us through fixing them ourselves!

They are genuinely good, intelligent guys that are a joy to converse with while working competently and efficiently. They quickly gained our trust and respect, and I would recommend them to anyone - even my grandmother. I will be using them in the future. In fact, they made it so easy that I may never do another project myself again. Call them. Today.

Even though the job was small, Adam performed the job quickly and the results were excellent.  I will definitely use him again in the future and highly recommend him to others no matter the size of your project.  You will find him very honest and reasonable in his costs.  He has a crew of 5 and are able to handle all your needs.

Adam and Eric were there when promised and on time and it only took them a day and half to do all the work.  Did a great job with the crown molding and the outside work.  We are very pleased with the results and would definitely hire him again.  Given that my husband and I are extremely picky, that is saying a lot. Would highly recommend them.

Working with Adam Kane and the gentlemen he employs in his company, Kane Finishing, has been an absolute pleasure! Our original interaction with Adam was for the installation of two pocket doors in our new home. For the pocket doors, Adam met with us to explain his bid and to describe the type of products he would use for the framing, doors, electrical, etc. It quickly became apparent that Adam is one of those rare individuals who takes great pleasure in doing things correctly ? using quality materials while ensuring an incredible attention to details throughout the project. We knew from our interactions during that meeting that Adam truly cares about his clients and about doing an outstanding job.
 
Although our home was brand new, one evening when Adam pulled into our driveway to do some finishing work on the doors, a fitting on our hot water line burst (the fitting literally burst as Adam pulled into the driveway). Adam was at our home to work on pocket doors but that night he saved us from what could have been a major issue when he found the main shut off to the house, altered us to other plumbing issues left from the builder, AND STAYED WITH US to help clean-up the mess in the kitchen and basement. On a personal level, Adam provided us with so much more than a contractor doing our pocket doors. He provided his support, skills, and knowledge for what was a very stressful event!
 
Because of the interactions from that night and his excellent craftsmanship and use of top-notch materials, we quickly asked Adam to also open-up our stair walls and build steps with solid hickory treads. Although our home is brand new, there were several issues from new home construction that quickly became apparent. These issues required Adam and one of his employees to custom build each and every aspect of the stair project. Again, Adam?s attention to detail and insistence on doing the job correctly has resulted in a gorgeous, completely opened-up, custom built, solid hickory treads set of stairs.  
 
Adam and the gentlemen he employs with Kane Finishing are absolutely stellar examples of all that can go right when having work done on your home. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have found Adam through Angie?s List and he will always have our business, our recommendation, and our gratitude!

Fantastic! The room was for my daughter when she was born. Lots of bright pinks and wall paper. I knew it would be a challenge to cover the pinks with any color. My daughter being 13, want the room to be 3 different shades of orange. (It looks much better than it sounds) Adam's crew came it, moved the furniture, stripped the wall paper, repainted the ceiling and trim one shade of orange, and the walls 2 different shades of orange.... I didn't think it would look good, but it looks great. The guys were friendly and meticulous about keeping things clean and did a great job. I recommend them to everybody. thanks Adam!

The entire experience was quick, painless, and professional. Kane actually fixed a couple of jobs another company completed inadequately. The personal care with which they treated our house, and even our family dog(!) for that matter was a welcome change after some of their less esteemed colleagues just took our money and performed lousy work, and with no bedside manner so to speak. Finding Kane was a stroke of luck for us as homeowners.

My living room and dining room needed some drywall repair and to be repainted.  A friend of mine recommend that I speak with Adam from Kane Finishing as this was who finished his basement for him.  I knew that the basement has made excellent living space for my friend and that the quality of the work was great so I called Adam.  He was able to come to my house the next evening after I was finished with work.  That weekend I received an estimate that was very reasonable.   Adam guided me into a much better quality paint that has been more durable than what was on my walls.  This has been very helpful because I have two dogs that are a little rough on my walls at times.  The crew at Kane finishing did such a great job on my walls that I am unable to see where any of the patches were.  While seeing how good of a job these men did I decided to have them install crown molding in my dining room, kitchen, and living room. What a difference it made in the appearance of the main level of my home.  Shortly after the crown molding was completed I asked Adam to come back and install wainscoting/beadboard up to a chair rail in my dining room.  Amazing work!!  Adam also was able to fix a plumbing leak for me while he was working at my house.

I met Adam in passing, and got caught in a conversation with him. After discussing what each of us did for a living, i told Adam I had a problem that I wasn't sure how to handle. He made an appointment to come look at my house to see what the problem was. He was punctual, and very friendly. He looked at our storage room and he explained how bad that the black mold had got from my oversight. I offered to remove the shelves and walls, but he insisted that his team do that with proper respirators and equipment. He gave me an estimate and started it that week. When he gave me the bill it was right where he estimated. They did a great job and now I don't have to worry about black mold in my house with my children.

For how stressful such a project could have gone (and I tend to be a stress monger), it really couldn't have gone any better.  Adam and his crew did a great job!
