My salesman at Freysinger Hyundai was Bob Hefflenfinger. Bob is a very friendly, laid back sort of individual. He was not pushy or difficult. He was very knowledgable about the Santa Fe and able to answer most of my questions. And if he did not know an answer right away, he researched it and got back to me quickly. He really did a great job.
Freysinger Hyundai has completed the construction of its building and service center. The showroom is relatively small and very low key compared to other auto showrooms on Carlisle Pike. It kind of reminds me of a small town auto dealership. I had found the car I wanted to look at and test drive on the internet using several auto search engines and also went to the Freysinger web site. Their web site is quite basic and could use some bling and pizazz...but it provides the basic information. I had already done my internet research on the vehicle and just needed to look at it and take it for a test drive.
I called Bob on a Monday and explained I was no longer looking at new vehicles but that I was interested in the 2010 Santa Fe they had for sale. I asked what the asking price was since it was not posted on their web site or any of the search engines. He said he had to check and asked if he could call me back. Bob returned the call within the hour. The asking price was very reasonable and almost exactly what identical vehicles (but different colors) were posted for in the Lancaster and Reading areas. So I told Bob I would stop by later that evening.
I stopped in and looked the vehicle over and took a test drive. Bob apoligized for the lack of a price and some interior cleanup that needed to be done. He said the vehicle had just been traded in and had not been detailed yet nor had they decided on a price untll their 150 point check had been completed.
I made an offer on the vehicle. Bob went next door to discuss the offer with the manager. And my offer was accepted. I asked that the car be detailed, fix the alignment (the car drifted to the right slightly), and verify the transmisson service bulletin fixes had all been applied. We shook hands. No deposit. Bob said it should be ready for pickup in two days.
Two days later, I stopped in, did the paper work, wrote the checks and walked out with a new used SUV. The wait for the paper work took longer than I thought it should considering the place was not busy. I expected a heavy push for add on services that really are a waste of money and pure profit to the dealer. I was offered two add on services by Bob but they were just described and not shoved down my throat like I have had done by other dealerships in the past. I expected a meeting with the financial guy to sell me those and more; but that never materialized.
Eventually, all the paperwork was completed, I was handed the keys and walked out with a new used SUV. The whole experience was very positive. Bob was great. Will definitely see him again when my wife needs a new used vehicle soon. Haven't used the service department yet but I have read good things about the service department in some online forums. I'll post my review when my first oil and filter change comes up. By the way, my first three oil changes are free.
Overall, I had a very positive experience buying my vehicle at Freysinger Hyundai.
