I called Saturday around 2PM to schedule the service, I was quoted a price of 259.00 before they arrived. I was told they would be here around 4 to 4:30 they called later in the day to state they would be running behind due to previous job. Ed the technician called to verify that he would be at my house around 5PM. After arrival I showed him my basement and explained my issue and concerns. I wanted him to run a snake in the basement drains and then run it outside to ensure my lines were clear. He said he would start outside. There was a clog due to baby wipes outside near the inlet to the main city sewer. We flushed toilets, ran water in sinks and tub. We forgot to throw a bucket of water in the basement drain. Around 9PM I decided to put water in the basement drain, well it didn't go down. Called Ed and the main business number to let them know of the issue. Plumber came back to my house Sunday morning and cleared line under my basement, found more baby wipes. Should have listened to the customer when I said start in the house. Anyway, all works good. I do feel the price was high at $259.00 It was a Saturday though. I regret not calling around to get more quotes. I regret not having or using Angie's list. This high cost to clean my drain caused me to want to look for a better way to find services, that is why I'm on here now as a four year member of Angie's list just joined today. If I had Angie's list on Saturday I could have saved at least $100.00 because I found plumbers on here that offer the same service for around $150.00, not sure if that was for a Saturday Service though. Anyway the plumber had to run his truck out to my place twice and I feel like I finally got the service I wanted after he cleared the basement line too. Saturday evening I was feeling upset. I would use this plumber again but I would make sure the price was reasonable with other plumbers. I would try to get quotes and not just go with the first person who answered the phone. I will give them that at least, they were available and did answer the phone on both Saturday and Sunday.
