Absolutely Horrible, It started off OK, with an e-mail quote and the reassurance that it would cost $3397 and take two weeks, if it took longer it wouldn't cost me anything and if he was able to complete it sooner he would refund me the difference (I should have thought this was fishy). So I sent this gentleman an e-mail on 7 May telling him to go ahead with the work based on his quote, with the caveat that he would finish the work by the third week in May so I could get an insurance inspector back into the house so I wouldn't loose my insurance. Then I had my mother meet him to give him half of the money. I am in the military and not in the area so when my Mother who lives locally sent me an e-mail on 30 May explaining that the electrician has not yet been in the house you could imagine my fury. I called and called and e-mailed, but Mr. Carter couldn't be bothered. He finally got back to me and said he was in fact in the house working but it was taking longer than he thought and it was going to cost me more than he first stated. I later found out that this was an outright lie, the next door neighbor who keeps an eye on the place for me told me that he was in fact never there. On 4 Jun Mr. Carter called me and e-mailed me and called me looking for the second half of his money (odd how he calls and e-mails when it's about getting his half of the deal?). He also told me that it was going to cost me another $350 dollars for unexpected circumstances. At this point not being in the area, I just needed to get him to finish the work as fast as possible because I needed to get new insurance on the house because the temporary policy I had to purchase the house had expired due to his negligence. I reluctantly paid the money, and am now kicking myself. He did an absolute terrible job on the house including, putting conduit channels on the walls and ceilings as opposed to running the wires in the walls like was expected. He drilled enormous holes in the exterior of the house and didn't fix them correctly. Here it is 15 Jul, and I have still not yet received my key back or a receipt for the work completed. To recap, he was untruthful about his quote, he lied about being able to complete the work on time and he lied about how much time he spent at the house and he did an absolute terrible job on top of it all.
