Matesic Renovation

Stephen at Matesic Renovations has done two remodels in our 100 year old house to date.They completely gutted and rebuilt our second floor bathroom from floor to ceiling. Since we moved in six years ago it has been an eye sore with poor lighting, a dated laminate vanity top, vinyl floor tiles and a hideous, uninviting and cold cast iron tub. Now we will enjoy for many years a bright and cozy whirlpool bathtub, an elegant glass top vanity suspended off the floor and lovely porcelain tiled walls and floor. I am once again proud to show off my bathroom! When we decided to finish our basement to make it a living space, our choice of contractor was made easy based on the quality of work Matesic Renovations provided on the bathroom. The word 'dungeon' falls short of describing the space we began with. Dark, musty. plaster falling from the ceilings and walls. There were two small rooms we'd never ever approached until the renovation began! Stephen and his crew worked six days a week to transform our muddled box storage/ laundry area into what has quickly become our favorite spot in the house. It's bright, it's cozy-warm, we have a full bath in the basement! A wonderful extra bedroom for our guests and I have the laundry room of my dreams! Stephen's work has been professional and meticulous. A true craftsman. And I don't imagine that's too easy in a 100 year old house. In fairness, we spent more than we expected to on the basement project by around 15 % but I've always believed you get what you pay for. And we got what we paid for, no doubt. We will be remodeling our third floor bathroom in the next year or so. Matesic Renovations is at the top of a very short list of contractors for the job. Beyond the work, we all found Stephen to be a joy to be around! Personable, funny, dedicated, creative and we look forward to years of friendship!
