About us
Connie's Maids is a small, family-owned business that provides excellent cleaning/maid service at a reasonable cost. We also provide the personal touch that is often missing when dealing with larger, franchised cleaning companies. We are prompt, thorough, and honest. We offer flexible scheduling that includes weekend service. We use green cleaning products, sealed HEPA vacuum, and Sanitizing Steam mop. For more informatiion, please check out our website, at www.conniesmaids.com. If you click on the "Services" tab, you will see a list of items that are included with each standard cleaning. Two times ago I was actually so disappointed that I texted Connie to tell her that their service was not up to expectation. I detailed areas in the kitchen that had not been touched. She offered to come back the next day to redo it but I told her that would and should not be necessary. I frankly didn't want to go through the drama of having to explain everything that we expected. Personally, after getting a complaint like that I would have expected maybe an offer of a discount the next time. We even left cash instead of a check just to see if she might take just 3 of the $20 bills instead of all 4 but they were all gone when we got home. Opportunity missed!
The fact is that they never did clean as well as we expected. Especially for $80 for an hour.
We had been debating whether or not to continue with their service for a month or so but the last time was the killer. We had left a note detailing a couple of things. The mirrors in the master bed room and living room and hall were left pretty smudged. Not just the last time but nearly every time. We noted that the small ledge that goes around the side and back of the night stand had an accumulation of dust. I mean enough to spin and knit a small sweater from. The note detailed the mirrors and the night stand ledge. The mirrors were a done little better than they normally did but the dust was still on the ledge of the night stand.
Of course, once we made the decision to not continue we began noticing other things that had not been cleaned. For example, in the kitchen, the top of the microwave and refrigerator were actually sticky. Now, to be fair to Connie, not only had she not cleaned those surfaces, apparently no one had in the year and a half we've paid for house cleaning.
They are nice people, very friendly, but certainly not worth paying $80.00 an hour. Plus factor that nearly half of the times they were here the daughter wasn't with them. Yet it still took the same hour. Go figure!
We have a new house cleaner. She charges $25 per hour. She took 4 hours the first time (2 weeks after letting Connie go) and 3 hours two weeks later. She estimates 3 hours each time from now on. She wipes down all cabinets and woodwork with Murphy's Oil Soap EACH TIME and scrubs the hardwood and ceramic floors on her hands and knees! She does a much better cleaning job and is less expensive overall.
I couldn't be more pleased and have continued to have Connie's Maids come every 2 weeks since then. I highly recommend this housecleaning service.
