Hellmann's Tree Service

When I informed the company of the street cleaning after they knocked on the door at 7:30, they threatened to tow even though it would have been against the law.

This was a very difficult job as no trees were close to the front street. We have a low side lot and our backyard has 3 lower tiers. 60 ft Elm tree - It was on the 2nd lower tier they used a crane and a tree climber to remove. They could not use the crane for the back half of the tree due to distance from our back driveway. The back half had to be cut and lowered to the ground by hand. You could tell the tree climber was very experienced. Crab Apple Tree - was up on the first tier. They were able to cut it and use the crane to lift it up to the driveway for the shredder. 25 Ft Elm Tree - on side of house. They were able to cut it and use the crane to lift it up over the deck to the driveway side of the house for shredding. Ray knew what he was doing with the crane as they had to avoid our deck many times during the removal. Ray was very professional and quickly responded to our call for an estimate and confirmation. The old wood/stumps from a previous job were spread out on the second and third tiers. They had to move all the heavy wood by hand to a spot that the crane could reach . They took as much care with the cleanup as they did with the removal of the trees! Pleasantly surprised as they were pretty wore out from a full day's hard labor.

Hellman's gave me the most courteous, quick and professional service I have encountered in a while. Ray returned my call immediately, gave me a price and told me when they would be out. They quickly cut down my tree, they cleaned the yard of all debris, and raked remaining pieces and blew the driveway clean of any debris, all in a fast time frame. I would be happy to recommend Ray and his team for their service anytime. Great Job!

He removed some trees from the year. They were on time and finished up without any problems.

He called me back the day we called, and set up an appointment for the next morning. Ray and his crew arrived in the morning as promised, carefully took the limb down without disturbing the phone line it was resting around, trimmed some other tree limbs that were weak, inspected the tree and cleaned up everything. It all went well, we were pleased, the tree is safer, and we will use him again.

Provided written estimate via email. Made appointment for service within a week or two after. Day of: a group of workers arrived around 9am, and cut down 4 trees, then ground the stumps. Were finished and driving away by about 3:45pm. Very happy with the work, and their price was the lowest estimate out of 3-4 companies we asked.

They did an excellent job. Very thorough, punctual, professional, and excellent follow up. I would definitely use their service again.

Ray answered my initial call and offered to stop by my home the same evening, I took him up on the offer and he came as planned, he gave me a call on his way to let me know he was coming. Once he arrived he walked the yard with me and discussed what trees he thought were healthy and should remain, and which he would recommend cutting and removing. We discussed the removal of the large debris piles as well. He provided me the estimate and I approved, feeling it was a fair price and I liked how promptly he came over and his professionalism. He then wrote up the estimate in detail and gave me a copy and told me that he and his team would try and schedule it within the next three weeks, and that he would call prior to the day selected. About a week later he called and asked if they could come out the next day and proceed, I agreed. He and his team, made up of himself and two other gentleman, arrived at the time he had specified, since I was still at home I stopped out and reviewed the plan once more. I asked Ray if he could also remove an extra smaller tree that had been hidden in the backside of my neighbors bushes and he agreed without hesitation. When I arrived home, all of the work had been completed, I was very pleased with the final result and wouldn't hesitate to use Hellmann's in the future or recommend them to a friend.

Obtained four quotes all from companies found via Angie's List. This company provided the lowest quote. They were responsive to my phone calls and efficient. Once I accepted their quote, they scheduled the service within two weeks, and work was completed per quote. I found this company professional and courteous and would definitely use them again.

I had called 6 tree removal companies and received quotes that were up to $300.00 higher than my eventual provider. The crew used a large bucket truck to reach almost to the top of the tree, cutinng branches on the way up and then cutting the trunk in 4 to 5 foot sections, lowering each to a crew member who subsequently loaded them into a truck. All the smaller branches were put through a chipper. There was nothing for me to clean up afterwards. I will be using this company again.

They did a very nice job. He gave me a good estimate. He came out right away. He was very knowledgeable, and asked all the right questions. They cleaned up very well, there was nothing left in my yard.

Spoke with Ray over the telephone. Noted that i was looking to obtain an estimate to prune trees in my backyard. He advised that he would stop over at the property during the week to look at the trees. He called about three days later with an estimate. Ultimately, i chose to go with another provider that bid a lower price. Ray, however, was very professional and noted that he would have been able to complete the work within the next week or two. I will consider in the future.

Ray was great. He was very responsive, answered my questions, and cleaned up after the work. Unfortunately couldn't grind the stump because my yard is hard to get to, but told me this up front and how to kill off the roots by drilling holes in the stump and filling with rock salt.

A call was made on 08-09-13 and Ray came out to view the tree. I was provided with a written estimate on 09-12-13 (i was away on week end) and the following day he showed up with Timothy and George and the tree was cut down. Ray was very professional along with Timothy and George and die a terrific job. I might add that they cut down the tree and branches and placed everything in neat order as i was doing the removal. They also cut out the root and did major clean up . I would recomment this company as in my opinion they did a great job and was very professional.

We couldn't be more pleased with Ray and his crew. One of our trees fell in the yard after a storm. The tree actually split... leaving half still standing. Within an hour of calling Ray, he was at the site and provided us with an estimate... and was done with the job before noon. Very professional. We highly recommend Ray Helmann!

He asked my son to send pictures of the tree, which I thought was kind of unusual. He did a good job. One of the companies quoted $1000 for the same job. Hellmann's Tree Service has been in the business forever. I went with him for $350. I would highly recommend him. He was great. I will be using him again this fall to remove a big tree.

They were very responsive in inspecting and providing a bid, then returning the next day to perfrom all work. Great job overall, with complete removal of all debris. Would definitely use them again for any tree-related jobs.

Brought some heavy duty equipment to move the large logs and an industrial chipper to take care of the smaller branches. Joe and his crew are definitely professionals. This is not a few guys doing something part time through college. This is a professional organization with the knowledge, skills, and equipment to get the job done.

I am very happy with the service I received. They did everything that they said they would do. Before leaving they went over everything they did and asked if everything was done as I expected.
