Everything went smoothly and the job was completed in less time than expected

Process for the installing the Insulation was very fast, only took them 2 days for our entire house. They also cleaned up pretty well after they were done.

They arrived on time and measured everything they needed and provided an estimate within a few days. It was much more than I was willing to pay for just a frame and for them to rip off the shingles on half the house. I was going to put the roof on myself, so I decided to look elsewhere.

It went good. They were good at listening to our concerns and they were dependable.

JD Gales was very prompt in responding to our request for an estimate. They performed quality work at a good price. They were able to start the job quickly and finished the job within a quick time frame. This is the second time we have used them, and we have been happy with their work both times.

A request for an estimate was answered promptly and an on-site visit with Zac Tournay was scheduled. Zac was prompt in responding to email questions and was knowledgeable about the job requirements. The two workmen assigned to the job completed the task in a professional manner and were very neat, leaving no debris..

They gave me a free estimate, I didn't even have to put any money down. They came when they said they would and got the job done. The workers were very good and seemed to perform this work with expertise.

His Angie's List page offered a discount on the work at the time I made my choice of which contractor to use for window replacement and insulation. My home no longer has that chill thanks to the great insulation provided. The sliders installed (Vinylmax company) are wonderful, energy efficient, and really add beauty to my home. There was a slight difference of the tan color between the trim/caulking and the windows, but Jim Gales promptly corrected it. The trim, caulking, and windows all now flows together in one color. I highly recommend JD Gales!

They did a very good job. The one thing I would recommend is that you don't paint before hand. You will need to repaint after the insulation is put in. If you go through the outside of the wall it costs more money. I was very pleased with the service. It's a messy job, but they cleaned up.

They were fine and very good. For the estimate they were very nice. They were right on time.

They aren't very friendly but they did okay work.

They answered questions well when they came out to do the estimate. They took pretty good care of our house. They laid stuff to cover the carpet. In general they seemed to treat our house like it was their own. They were professional and the rate was reasonable. The workers were in and out pretty quickly. They were friendly guys. It was a cold snowy day and they were very nice about how they handled the job because they had a hard time getting into our driveway. They were not cranky about it or anything. The experience was positive. They were definitely punctual and we didn’t have any problems with them.

The interaction was excellent. They gave me an estimate over the phone and came out within two days to do the work. They did the work in half a day. They cleaned up and even did a little more insulation than what was in the contract. He did more and didn't charge any more. He gave me the necessary forms to fill out for the end of the year tax credit. I was very pleased. I would recommend them and call them again if I had any more work to do. The other bid I got was $1,230. They didn’t give me a time that they would come; they just said they would be here which was fine because I am retired. They were very professional.

THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND GOT THE JOB DONE. I AM VERY SENSITIVE TO CIGARETTE SMOKE, SO I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY LEFT THEIR SMOKE SMELLING COATS IN MY HOUSE WHILE THEY WERE IN THE ATTIC. ONE OF THE COATS WAS EVEN LEFT ON A UPHOLSTERED CHAIR.

Mr. Gales told me exactly what to check, and the bases upon which it would or would not make sense to install more insulation. What we had satisfied his criteria for NOT needing more insulation, and so he saved me some money (at the cost of losing additional business for himself).

After American Insulation failed to do even half the job I had hired them for, I called JD Gales (which American had snidely commented was "twice as expensive"). John Gales came for the estimate, was punctual, professional, and sympathetic. He gave an estimate and followed up with a relatively detailed mailing (which I lost, and he replaced). His workers arrived in good time despite a storm that morning, and went right to work. They explained what they would do, and answered all my questions. They cut into the plaster walls of the finished attic, and also cut a hole in the ceiling. They went inside the ceiling to blow in cellulose insulation, and inside the walls to put fiberglass and to blow cellulose into the floor so that I could close off the attic from the rest of the house, and not have to heat it when I wasn't using it. They didn't complain when I followed them around, took pictures, and checked everything they did (after my bad experience with American). They made a big mess but cleaned everything quite well, even though the job lasted well into the evening and there is no working light in the attic (they used a worklight). They put drywall over the holes in the plaster, and it looked great. John Gales came and checked on the job, and while he was there I asked him for an estimate on new attic windows. He did the estimate and also checked out a broken clip on one of my bedroom windows, and was patient and helpful.

The insulation they installed had an immediate improvement on room temperature (in our case, they installed in the winter and within only 24 hours after the insulation, the 3rd and 2nd floors finally had the same temperature as the 1st (1st floor houses our thermostat). Of the three insulation companies we called, Jim was the first guy who could come out to give an estimate (it would have been a 2 week wait for the others), and he was also the company that could schedule the job the soonest. There was only one problem: clean-up. We were not sufficiently warned how dusty the job is, so we did not prepare our furniture/belongs adequately (nor did they make any effort to cover our things with sheets). We were also not sufficiently warned on what a job the installation would do to our walls- we had to wash or re-paint a few areas. Also, they are not professional plasterers: we had to touch up the dry-wall they installed. I would highly recommend hiring a plaster instead.

I contacted several companies, including JD (Jim) Gales, for estimates to insulate the top floor of my house. I selected Jim because he was very professional and courteous and his price was the cheapest. His crew of two came out to the house and, as far as I can tell, did a great job installing the insulation. They also did a pretty good job (not perfect) of cleaning up after themselves; they forgot to caulk one of the many holes that they had drilled to blow in the insulation. Jim showed up to check out the job and to say hello. I like Jim and plan to use his company for some other jobs around the house.

They cleaned up well and I felt the cost was competitive. They installed hat channels.

Workers were on time, clean and amicable. Be sure there is a place for them to park a large truck! The prices were by far the most reasonable from the 3 other quotes I received. They even let me make payments after the work was done.

Arrived on time, work completed as agreed ahead of time estimate given, work completed thoroughly, carefully, and cleanly.
