In the past couple of years, I have hired this company two times to move my large furniture—first from one apartment to another apartment and then from the apartment to a house. The workers from this company quickly provided estimates, were courteous, and did not damage any of my possessions during the moving.

Great company. Excellent communication, careful employees, and came in under estimate. A refreshing experience. Would definitely hire again!

I was very pleased with Gardner Moving's services. I was reluctant to go with a nationwide moving company as I wanted my belongings to stay on one truck and be handled by one crew. Gardner Moving provided that service. Joe Gardner was professional and personable in how he handled our estimate and pricing of the move. He also came the day of the move to provide guidance to his crew on how to move the large antiques and desk down flights of stairs in a 16' wide house. His crew were friendly and professional; they worked hard and as a team. It was clear that the crew prided themselves on not scratching the furniture, not dinging the walls, and not scraping the floors. Our delivery in Arlington, VA went just as smoothly. The crew made sure that everything was where I wanted it to be, and they cleaned up all the boxes, plastic, etc. Once again the crew worked efficiently and quickly. This was the 8th time I have used a professional moving company. Gardner Moving is by far the best experience and provided the best service. I cannot imagine ever using another company.

Movers were wonderful. The estimate was for 7 hours they did it in 5, with no damage. Movers were very nice, professional, fast, in other words excellent. Office was professional also. I highly recommend this family owned business. Family owned means taking pride in their work and business. Thank you for you hard work

Gardner Moving did an excellent job. There were four guys who all took their time and knew exactly how to wrap/strap the piano in order to safely move it. They arrived promptly and were very efficient. They were all very polite and most professional. I was worried about moving the piano but once I saw the guys working to move it, I knew my piano was in good hands. I highly recommend this company for anyone moving any type of furniture!

The guys were great. On time and very professional. They worked hard and were extremely careful. I would definitely recommend Gardner.

Ok with some hiccoughs

We hired Gardner for our move on 11/25/16 and they did a great job. They moved all of our furniture, boxes, mirrors, mattresses and TV's. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 storage units and it took them 4 hours from start to finish. They arrived on time and were very professional throughout the entire day. They set up our bed, dresser and mirror and placed all of our furniture exactly where we wanted it. They also help set up a rug pad and area rug and moved it several times until the placement was just right. I would highly recommend them as they were priced much more competitively than the other companies I inquired about.

I chose this company because of the Angie's list reviews and I could not have been more surprised. I received an almost immediate return call for my online inquiry. This crew was awesome and went above and beyond my expectations. They were fast, efficient, friendly, arrived early, and took care of our furniture and belongings. I would recommend Gardner Moving to anyone looking for an affordable moving company that will respect your time and belongings.

Being ex-military, I have moved a lot. This was easily the best move we've had. Appropriate care was taken at every step during packing and loading - used a team of 6 (!) packers so they didn't have to be at our house for 12 hrs. 4 of them made the trip in the trucks to DC so that they were familiar with the items and knew where (living rm, bedroom, etc) they generally went - made unloading noticeably smoother. They showed up when they said they would (at both ends), cleaned up thoroughly, verified all items were delivered, assembled things as required/requested, and charged me what they said they would charge me (despite several last minute changes to what was going in the trucks with them). The charges were very reasonable for the load size and distance travelled. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service and would recommend them for any move you may have.

I would very highly recommend Gardners Moving.  We moved from Mt. Lebanon to Sewickley.  Gardner packed our home and moved all household items.  Some of the items could not be moved into the house immediately because of renovations.  When the renovations were complete, they returned to move in the rest of our items which had been stored in our garage.

All the movers were professional and courteous.  I never heard one word of complaint that something was too heavy or too difficult.  In fact, their personalities were very upbeat and positive.  At one point it started raining but that didn't phase them at all.

Would definitely use again.

initial contact and quota with owner was easy, punctual, and pleasant.
On the day of my move mover arrived 30 min late, perhaps due to snowfall. Packing went well and the packers worked hard and efficient and were polite.
My new place is on the country side and the driver became scared of the snow and did not want to drive to the house. He said the trucks are not good for winter and snow - which made me wonder why they used them for a move on a snowy day in February, especially with worn down front tires. Anyway, I had somebody plow the 1 inch of snow of the gravel road which did not do much to the snow in the track, but made it look less scary. So after 1-2 hours delay the trucks drive to my new house.
While unpacking, the foreman, Mark, broke a  'dining room chair'. Instead of showing me the damage, he secretly took the chair back into the truck and did a quick-gluing fix" of the split leg and then put the chair into the garage in a difficult to reach  area - behind bicycles. I guess Mark hoped that I would not notice the damage  immediately. So when the leg comes apart again when I use it  - which sure it would when one sits on it,  then it makes it difficult to proof that it was damaged during the move. However, I found the chair before Mark left and confronted him with it. Mark apologized for this deceit and took 100 dollar of the bill.
What I find disturbing is that this was a clear and direct attempt to cheat me. And I was only lucky that I found the chair. When I emailed the owner to express my disappointment with this dishonest, he responded that Mark was upset because I was upset due to his initial refusal to drive to my house. I do not think that this justifies this deliberate and planned dishonest.
The owner also responded that Mark was planning to tell me at the end. I do not believe this, because why would have Mark hidden the dining room chair in the garage, away from the rest of the chairs? And I actually confronted Mark when all moving was completed i.e. at the end. Its just a lame excuse for dishonest and lack of taking responsibility.
So overall it went okay but this attempt of cheating me is inexcusable in my mind, so I will avoid this company in the future (when I need to get the rest of my furniture from the old house)

Gardner had the best rate for the weekend. Showed up on time and moved very quickly. We got through an entire three bedroom home (with basement) in less than 5 hours. It was great! They were very friendly and professional. They asked us where things needed to go and were willing to move things around if we needed it. They also helped move some old furniture that was left behind in the new house to another room in the house. Our stairs were curved and they even had to move our bedframe through the balcony!! Absolutely no complaints, they were wonderful!

The only advice I would provide that is not reflective of Gardner, just lack of knowledge on our part: 1) buy mattress bags for the mattresses otherwise they will get dusty. We didn't think about it until it was too late. and 2) when moving bookcases, pull off the little knobs that go in where the shelves rest. Again, we didn't think about it and lost a couple (easy to replace). These two things weren't against Gardner at all, we should have done it and just totally forgot.

I can't say enough good things about the move that Gardner performed for our family. The team they brought to conduct the move was fast, continually kept us updated and communicated during the entire move. They took very good care of our furniture wrapping every item and not damaging anything in transit or during the move. 
They were punctual and the estimate was almost perfect.

They were excellent. The guys were very nice. They had a good sense of humor. They carried everything except for the refrigerator which just needed to be rolled down the driveway into the truck. They did a great job getting everything in the house. They were prompt in getting there and they were very quick.

I felt the estimate for my move was reasonable especially compared to several other estimates. As it turned out, I moved most of the boxes myself and the movers handled the furniture and other large items. The three movers - Tucker, Zack, and James - worked extremely hard and without breaks. They accomplished the move - including steps on both ends - in record time. This resulted in a significantly lower cost than the original estimate. Great job!

Gardner Moving is phenomenal. I have moved A LOT, and have experienced great moves as well as total disasters. Gardner made this a great move. Mike Gardner came out and gave us an estimate. They were able to move us during the summer with a few weeks' notice. The team called three days before to confirm, and then called an hour before arrival the morning of the move. The crew showed up on time with all the equipment they needed. The team was professional, polite, and very kind. They made my very nervous little boys feel like they were helpers. They stayed flexible, and moved everything. The whole move was done in 7.5 hours, which for the amount of furniture and boxes we had, is amazing. They came in under estimate with no damage to belongings or properties. I would highly recommend Gardner to anyone.
