The only negative I have to report was the level of communication. Mark arrived quickly to complete his review and work up an estimate in mid June. He delivered his estimate by email quickly. The remaining communication, all be email, was spotty and infrequent. I needed to ask him repeatedly for the dates he would come by to complete the work. Multiple specific questions about anything he might need from us went unanswered, such as township approval, utility line flags, and mail box location. Twice he reported having recently emailed me but I never saw/found those communications. It is possible he had an incorrect email address (.com instead of .net, for example). The project was delayed from late July to mid August to early September. Despite this issue within the project, I still would rehire Mark for additional work if needed.
Mark and his crew did an excellent job with the work, once under way. He arrived early on days he did work. He completed the entire project over two days with minimal interruption to us at the house and no contact. Mark brought all needed equipment and left for additional equipment/supplies as needed, without adding any to the price of the project.
On day one, he ripped up about 15' feet of drive way, installed the culvert pipe, and repaved the driveway. He very carefully lined up on the culvert and the asphalt. The newly created angle of the driveway is improved over how it sat before and the pipe appears perfectly installed. He also added top soil to all lawn areas disturbed and placed hay over all areas, as well. This included both areas pulled up by the culvert install as well as areas disturbed by the treads of his equipment (excavator). The asphalt was dry less than 24 hours later. As an extra request, Mark installed 3' of brick at the top of the pavement, giving me a Yard of Bricks, as found at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, to drive over every day. This sentimental request did not seem to add any cost to the project and looks great upon completion.
On day two, Mark ripped out two planting beds including removal of numerous small to medium sized bushes, mulch, and remaining stone from earlier owners of the house. Finally, the crew cut down and removed 2 large trees including the roots and all limbs without disturbing the newly paved driveway and culvert. Mark and his crew removed all debris and left no trash or issues subsequent to their work.
Mark submitted his invoice by email within days of the completion of the work. He had promised during earlier email communication that payment was not due until satisfaction that the work was done. Nothing was paid/required up front.
Again, the end result of the work looks great. We are very happy with the installation of both the culvert and the Yard of Bricks. The removal of the shrubs/bushes and trees is complete and looks good. I would definitely hire Weber Excavating again and would recommend him to others.

Absolutely a first class individual. I had been going through excavators more than I change socks, all because of the same things -- dishonest, poor quality, inaccessible, unreliable, and not respecting the area around their work area. I figured all dirt movers were the same way until I met Mark. He is everything that the guys from past experiences are not.
We built a small subdivision into the middle of a hilly forest. The goals were to create a nice little development without taking away from the natural attributes of the property. He never second guessed what I was trying to do and performed every activity I gave him without complaint or attitude.
Here are some quick hits of what he did for us that the reader may also be wondering about:
(1) We started off with uneven virgin ground. He shaped the area, consolidated the stumps and debris in one central spot. He completed this to perfection. He and quot;groomedand quot; the area.
(2) We needed to dig a foundation as well as a retention pond. He completed both with precision (used devices to ensure correct depth and were meticulous in their work) and speed.
(3) He seeded several acres for me. This was a several step process for Mark. He graded the area, ensured there was even topsoil, used a mechanical soil conditioner to make it as flat and even as a baseball field, and then used a machine to blow the straw/seed mixture onto the area.
(4) He graded around the house and spent a lot of time talking to me about what HE thought looked the best, listened to my opinions, provided opinions about drainage, and then performed the activities quickly and efficiently.
(5) He brought in stone as needed for the job, not even bothering me with the small details of when and where it was to be dumped. The builder called him and said something needed to be done, it was DONE. Immediately.
(6) Mark was responsive even as he was obviously very busy with other jobs. If I called his cell phone, he answered or called right back.
(7) Mark is very reasonable, price-wise. If he gave me a price, he stuck with it. He was less than average for price. I elected to pay a small amount extra than I would have paid the and quot;low-ballerand quot; excavators because I knew what I was getting and when I was getting it. Trust me, it is well worth it.
(8) Mark is a low-key guy, only snakes get his blood pressure up (ha). Very even tempered, very patient, and very nice.
(9) Mark has a fleet of every type of machine needed for the job. I don't know what everything is called but I saw everything from a small Kubota to a huge Cat. His dumptrucks are clean which indicated that he was serious about appearance.
I would feel comfortable using Mark for any of the following activities: digging foundations, grading anything, popping stumps, felling trees, seeding, concrete work, prepping and coordinating with a paver for a driveway -- basically anything that involves big machines.
This was truly the one thing that went right for me in a long and tedious process. Thanks Mark!

In the end they did great work. The owner had to work with the Borough in regards to the accessibility ramps. There was very bad weather and the torn up sidewalk allowed water in the basement but thankfully nothing was damaged. Due to the flooding that happened throughout the South Central PA area, the contractor was not able to finish the work in a timely manner. That was understood, but the owner was very had to get ahold of and he did not communicate the schedule very well.

Perfect. It was a large pour and the company had several people on hand to handle the job.

Got the name from Angie's List and contacted. Mark was easy to deal with and although we had some difficulty with communications in the beginning, all worked out well. They arrived when they said they would and completed the job within 1/2 hour, at the price quoted.

Had a tight time frame from the Sewage Enforcement Officer, who wanted to get it done. Mark's employee dropped off equipment on a weekend to get the work started the next morning early, and did a great job.
