ANIMAL HOSPITAL OF RYE

We’ve had them for years to take in to have their rabies shots and stuff like that. To have them spayed or neutered, stuff like that. They’ve been fine for the last 30 years. They used to be self-owned and now a corporation might own them, so the prices have gone up in the last few years for that reason. You can tell they have more services available because of that. They have added onto their building, stuff like that. They have more helpers, more aids. It used to be one vet and now there’s two. There’s advantages, but I do believe their prices are a little higher than what they were. I know there is cheaper out there, but you’ve got to make a choice. Quality is really good.

They were great.  I have used them for several years.  They are horribly expensive from what I've paid in Georgia.  Their price is very high.  If I get out of there for under a thousand bucks it's a good day.  The only reason I give them a B is that the Vet there I love her and the staff is great.  But the only thing I have to say about them is that they are horribly expensive.  I will use them again because there is no one else around here.

Dr. Whalen was wonderful. We have been going to her for about 2 years now, and have been very pleased. On this visit, she gave us and our dog her full attention, warned us that the teeth were so bad that many would likely have to be pulled, responded affirmatively to our request to update the rabies vaccine even though it was not scheduled for that visit, and made a chart for the Veterinarian who was going to do the dental to show her assessment of the teeth in advance of the actual dental visit.

When we had to postpone the dental due to a snowstorm and called her office to see if additional antibiotics were called for, she took time from her busy day to respond, through the front desk person, with an explanation of why it was not necessary.  Many vets would have merely refused.  She made certain we understood.  We are so glad that we found this veterinarian hospital for our regular vet needs. 

The dental we had done through the Animal Dental Center of Annapolis, MD, which visits the York Emergency Veterinary Hospital on S. Queen Street twice a month.  We went there because they are equipped to do root canals, fillings, etc., should these items be necessary instead of merely pulling teeth as most veterinarians have to do when there is a problem.

I saw Dr. Kirmayer and you can't just compare him to anybody I have been to. He is the definitely the-go-to man for things that your normal veterinarian has a hard time diagnosing. They are real wonderful up there. They are very thorough. I told them my pet was having a nervous breakdown and I walked out that day finding out that she had knee problems. He is the one to go to for chemotherapy. They are at the high-end but you get what you pay for. The facility is clean and that means a lot to me.

My best friend (dog), Fawn, began having seizures and was very ill. She was 10 years old at the time and had never been ill. After a few visits to the routine veterinarian's office with no true diagnosis, I took her to The Animal Hospital of Rye. The Animal Hospital of Rye has skilled, compassionate employees and equipment that is lacking in some other animal clinics. Within an hour they had completed an ultrasound that showed she had a large tumor/mass. Surgery was scheduled for the following week and it went well. She recovered from surgery quickly and was playing like a puppy again. Biopsy showed that she had cancer so we followed up with chemotherapy. The doctors and staff at The Animal Hospital of Rye are very knowledgable and compassionate as well as professional. Sadly, some time later the cancer returned and she passed away. However, I will always be grateful that the staff at The Animal Hospital of Rye was willing and able to remove the source of her pain and provide her with a better quality of life for the time that she had left. I strongly recommend The Animal Hospital of Rye if you have a very sick pet.

I took 2 of my pets for an annual exam. The cost stayed low since I brought both of them at the same time. Since both of my pets felt okay I was able to take advantage of the multi-price 2 for 1 discount. I was greeted by the Animal Hospitals professional staff and I appreciate how kind they are to Frankie and Angel. The veterinarian gave both of them a basic annual exam. My dog had her anal glands expressed and the staff cleaned their ears and trimmed their nails at no cost. I've taken my pug in a few times in between appointments and just had her nails trimmed and since I am a client there it is at no charge.

I have 7 pets and have taken them in for x-rays, acupuncture, and a few other diagnostic procedures and I am grateful to know they have state of the art diagnostic equipment right there in there office instead of sending me 100's of mile away. I'm blown away at the procedures they cover at the Animal Hospital of Rye and wouldn't go anywhere else.

We were greeted and taken to an exam room where the vet talked to me briefly before taking my dog back for her ultrasound. Afterwards he spoke to me about his finding and I gave permission for urine to be sent out to the lab for testing.

Take good care of animals and extend their lives.
Do specialty things above and beyond for the animals
