WE couldn't be happier with the results. Craig Arroyo and his partner set up an interview with us right after our initial phone call. They came to our home, first sat down with us and discussed what we had in mind. Then they took measurements of the space and discussed possible plans. Within a few days we received, via e-mail attachments, 3 blueprint plans to look over and decide which one we liked best. WE also received a detailed estimate, broken down according to type of doors, ceiling, trim, powder room included --or NOT--. In short, there were NO surprises! WE found them to be prompt, courteous, and truthful. Communication was excellent--I could e-mail or call cell phone with any questions or concerns. They CLEANED UP EVERY DAY! The ONLY surprise was when the materials were delivered to our garage on the first day of construction. GET THIS: They made a MISTAKE in estimating cost for the ceiling materials. They took $600.00 OFF of the contract estimate --re-wrote the contract to reflect the new pricing. This job was not cheap, but "you get what you pay for!" In the initial estimate they said: "The bathroom, carpet, and ceiling we're planning to install are on the higher end of medium priced - not over the top, and obviously not junky. If you hire us, we will sit down with samples for flooring, and go shopping with you for your bathroom choices." We knew at the outset the total cost. We were never "nickel and dimed" with the project. We just hired them again to repair a ceiling in our dining room from a roof leak during Hurricane Sandy.
Description of Work: This company was referred to us by a neighbor who had her basement finished. We looked at her finished work and were very impressed with the craftsmanship. We had approximately 450 square feet finished in our basement. This included two sets of french doors, one other single access door, a powder room installed under the stairway (with an "upflush" toilet to work with existing access pipe), all drywall, including ceiling, all painting, baseboard and trim, AND a "custom look" wall unit storage and entertainment center completed with stock cabinets and trim from a Big box store( saving us $$$$ over a custom built one) and carpet for 14 steps and entire floorspace. Since we have geo-thermal heating/cooling, we had concerns about gaining access to the tubes, water lines, etc. that ran all the way across the ceiling joists. The plan presented to us incorporated this concern and the walls were constructed just inside the lolly columns - thus keeping the geothermal components fully accessible on the UNfinished side of the basement. The cost estimate included EVERYTHING. We chose accessories for the powder room (sink, mirror, towel bars, etc. --anything we wanted from the supply store. ) Also chose tile for the powder room floor.
