two weeks ago our transmission started skipping, not wanting to shift (automatic) and not working at all good in reverse. we took it to Tyoga Transmissions. the next business day they called us, we talked and they made some suggestions about finding what is wrong and the average price of each option. he called us back within 2 days saying he did not feel it was worth putting in the rebuilt transmission for the age of the jeep, we should just buy another vehicle. we said the body and frame is in very good condition and a new short block engine was put in 1 1/2 yrs. ago so we felt it was worth the rebuilt transmission, he then agreed w/us. (he could have just changed the transmission and gotten $2800.00 from us without even suggesting to us to buy another vehicle then he would have only gotten approximately $200.00 for looking and evaluating the problem but we felt he was trying to look out for our well-being and expenses in making that suggestion. we told him we did want it replaced and he stated it would take approx. 5 days. the cost, the time and the work has been well-worth it. we would highly-recommend them again.

We had some other auto center replace the engine (short block) in our older Jeep a month before. Upon driving it for awhile we heard a strange sound under the hood. We had taken it back to the place and they were not able to find the problem. We then took it to Tyoga Transmissions (b/c we wondered if we were having trouble w/the transmission). The next day he looked it over and within an hour knew the problem -- when the 'new kid' at the other auto center finished replacing the engine he forgot to tighten the bolts, which caused the strange sound (which was a simple error by the other company's 'new kid' and it didn't cause a problem or accident). Tyoga charged us for 1 hr. of service; it was fixed quickly and we were on our way. With the quick response and everything we will gladly go to them again w/any issues which they handle.
