They never once discussed that ventilation was even an issue. Code says that it must be installed according to manufactures recommendations.Â
I contacted the manufacture and the DO recommend that a double walled liner should be used in the chimney along with a special cap. Neither were discussed or offered. I spent 21K and would not have skimped on a chimney liner if it was offered or explained.Â
If you have a chimney with a clay liner it it a GUARANTEE that
1. You will have chimney failure (leaking carbon monoxide into your home)
2.You will get sick
3 and or DIE
So, I got the carbon monoxide leak as is a guarantee and my child and I have been sick. It took a few years to discover what was causing the seepage in to the living room and the day it was discovered I called Fred Kling. He put me off and says he refuses to fix our heat,
So, here we are facing winter with a disabled child in the home and the gas company has shut off the gas until the repairs are made. I have $1600 worth of damage in my living room as well as $3000 to the chimney, and who even knows if the unit is has been damaged due to improper venting and needs to be replaced as well.Â
Fred Kling and Kevin do not care about my family's health or safety.Â
They don't want to do anything to fix their mistake.Â
RUN from this company!Â

They have the ability to poison you, cause sickness and or DEATH and don't care enough to even return a phone call.Â

"We have been serving or customers for over 93 years. Permits were pulled for her project and the job was inspected. We have served thousands of satisfied customers over the years who can vouch for the quality of work we do. This is all about money. We will NOT be bullied or bad mouthed by this customer into giving her something because she thinks if she squeaks loud enough she will get the grease. There is a toy in every Cracker Jack Box. Oh, here again this boiler was installed 8/25/2011. Over 5 years ago. And the price tag was not $21,000. It was $12,000. BIG difference."
I called them for pricing on one day and they offered me service the next day, and this was not an emergency repair! They arrive at the time specified.
They offer fixed pricing in advance for the jobs they do so there is little question before they arrive. Their phone estimate was exactly what we paid. The technician was friendly, answered every question we could think of and offered proactive advise for us to get the longest life out of our new faucets.
He worked quickly and effectively. Not rushed but also not slow.
I'd suggest you break something on purpose to see how different these guys are!!!!

As a result of an October furnace inspection I was advised my existing furnace was leaking carbon monoxide. This created an urgent situation as cold weather was fast approaching. I was a long term customer of this HVAC contractor so I requested a quote and also requested a quote from two other sources. FF Kling was the highest quote by 10% but due to my long history with them I gave them the nod.
Let me start the comments by saying the end result was pretty close to what I was expecting but the process of getting there was a little painful. It seems this organization has different people with different skill sets. The HVAC installation crew was painfully slow and the workmanship caused me to make several comments to the supervisor not onsite. The hot water heater guy was fast, knowledgeable and I had absolutely no complaints about his efforts.
Ultimately the problem areas were corrected and I am happy with the end result. My one caution would be to keep an eye on their HVAC work as these guys didn't seem as knowledgeable.

Replaced air filter; pulled and cleaned flame sensors; inspected burners and heat exchangers, both ok.. Cleaned burners,
blower capacitor, blower motor. All okay. We have furnace maintained 4x year per contract.

I'm not sure of the price any more but were unhappy because he inflated his time spent by a considerable amount. Was definitely NOT here the time he billed for. Said he would return days when he had to leave and didn't and didn't do that either. Said he was unhappy because we picked and provided the light fixtures, disposal, and toilet we wanted. He seemed to think he should have done the shopping and we should have been happy with what he chose so that he could make a profit on those items since he could get them wholesale.
The work when finally completed was ok. We were mainly unhappy with HIM. We went over to the office and complained but it fell on deaf ears
"Work was completed 9/13/2010 not 9/1/2011 GPS does not lie, there was No inflated time. We only charged $35.00 an hour. 20 hours @ $ 35.00 = $700.00 + $256.00 for material came to $956.00. When you came to the office we deducted $70.00 or 2 hours of labor off your bill for him running to Lowes for parts. He started the job on Wed. 9/8/2010 was there all day, came back Thurs.9/9/2010 all day again. We pulled him off the job on Fri. 9/10/2010 because of an emergency. A water line broke above a ceiling and we needed to cut opening to repair leak and patch ceiling. We came back the following Monday 9/13/2010 and completed the job. And yes all contractors are not happy when the consumer buys fixtures etc. and ask us to install them, but we deal with it. I personally do not know why this customer would be unhappy"
