Salesman showed us pictures of cedar fencing and said there would be some knots. We told him knots were ok as long as there were no holes in fence. What they sent were was a cedar fence made from the waste cutoffs from the cedar planks. Rot, holes, thin slats. We ended up having them put up the standard stockade and over paid by $1000 for same product. The company is owned by the same parent co as Fence Authority.

It went pretty well. The planning and the installation part was fine, but they seem a little disorganized. Their new computer system is a disaster. They can't seem to use it effectively. It took weeks and weeks for the final bill to arrive..

Fence deteriorated quickly. Wood rotted and fence pickets became warped. Fence needed to be replaced. Fence was not installed properly., The fence was not installed along the property line (replacing old fence) as instructed but placed inside the old fences. Fence was not installed to the ground but placed with gaps underneath.

The crew worked well as a team . the fence was installed perfect. The person in charge was a perfectionist. Great job. There were a few issues 1 the dry cement left on my drive way was swept in my flower beds. 2 And the side walks were left muddy and not hosed off. 3 I did not know until the fence was installed that a weed wacker could damage the fence. I should have been told this up front. With all that said I would recommend this fence company because of the quality of the product and workmanship.

In a nutshell it was and continues to be a very bad, unsatisfactory experience.
The fences were installed and paid for in November 2014. However, during the installation a number of incidents occurred:
1. Installing at one condo, an 18 inch sump pipe drainpipe was cut off and the homeowner not informed. Rusticraft claimed they had to cut it in order to install the fence. Not true. Rusticraft installed our original fences 20 years ago and did a beautiful job totally without incidents. We loved their work hence we chose them for this job.
2. Same unit - they cut through the Comcast cable to the 2nd floor (not reported) resulting loss of TV service for several days. Comcast and the owner figured out what had happened. The installers also cut the 1st. floor cable. Comcast did a permanent repair.
3. A second unit has/has an uneven fence line along the ground. Instead of installing the section to fit the situation as had been done with the previous fence installation, they left 12 to 18 inches of patio exposed. No attempt to discuss this with the condo was made.
4.The post caps on several of the fences had to be re-seated so that they would all be of uniform height. Required a call-back.
5. A good deal of ground cover and planting was torn-up.
6. They made many sloppily cut, rough edges and the placement of some unsightly posts and fence sections were installed with the "worst side" showing most prominently.
I know. I'm shaking my head as I write and I'm not finished. The worse is yet to come, Hang on, there will be pics.
Post installation: (Still unresolved in spite of numerous phone calls to them and to Mike their man in charge.)
1. We discovered that fist-size pieces of cement from the old post holes and pieces of wood were left strewn about the grounds. Some were dumped down a hill side. Still there.
2. We were promised by the salesman that the new latches would be just like the old or at least very similar. NOT THE CASE
The new latches are NOTHING like the ones they removed. The old were iron, or steel -- heavy, secure, slid smoothly into place across the post and gate and could opened with latches on either side of the gate. THEY COULD BE LOCKED. We had SECURITY AND PRIVACY.
This is what we got. A flimsy latch of some kind that sits BETWEEN the fence post and the gate. There is a one to two inch GAP between the post and gate so you can squeeze your fingers in-between .Difficult to open at times. You can see right into the patios. Forget privacy forget security.
I will stop now, soon. Surely you get the picture. ONE THING ABOUT THE WORKERS: They were very polite and friendly, worked hard and steadily. HOWEVER, they obviously did not have proper supervision.
OUR OPINION: Management is a disgrace. In our collected years of experience with companies working on the property we have never experienced anything like our on-going discussion with Rusticraft. They SAW all the pics, they have seen and heard our concerns. They could care less. They got their money.
