They are excellent. They clean them and safety check. We gotten to the point where we have a certain technician that we request each time because they were so good when they came out and always accommodating with providing that person. We would continue to use them.

I needed a safety check on my gas fireplace. the technician was punctual, knowledgeable, and efficient. He took time to show me how to determine what was wrong in the future and what to do about it. I would recommend them and will definitely use them again. I purchased the fireplace from them a few years ago. This was my first maintenance check up.

The installation was prompt and efficient. The man who installed the grill explained exactly how the propane tank works, which has sometimes been a problem for me. I think that when you open the valve too quickly, it trips up a safety mechanism, so that little propane actually comes out. The answer (I think) is to reclose the tank and open it more slowly.

They now maintain it for me annually. I found the company to be very responsive. They have a nice show room and they know what they are talking about. They advised us on what to use and do for the project. Everything turned out the way they said it would. Their prices are also fair.

Gas Works sent their installation manager to our house to look at our old fireplace since it was not the standard size. He assured us that they would have no problems. So we ordered our fireplace and stone only to get a call a couple weeks later telling us that the stone that we ordered didn't come in the size we needed. So we had to pick another stone. This went on several times and Gas Works finally suggested that we start calling quarries to get the stone that we needed. After a number of weeks, Gas Works finally found a place to get stone in our size. While we weren't thrilled with the color / texture, at that point we simply accepted it.
Once the stone arrives, the installation manager at Gas Works and one helper came out and did the work. However, when they were getting ready to leave, my wife pointed out that the mantel was not centered on the stone. To fix this, they started pounding on the mantel to adjust it. However, since the glue that was used to hold the stone in place was still wet, the stone moved. They had put tape over the seams to hold things in place and told us to remove it in a couple days. When we did, we noticed that the various pieces of stone had moved and were no longer flush. In addition, there was a crack in the hearth.
We asked the Manager at Gas Works to stop and look at our fireplace, because we were very unhappy with the work that was done. He came out and took pictures and said that he would get back to me. He later called and said that the crack was part of the stone (not really a crack!!!), but he would send their installation team back to fix the stone.
When they came back to fix the stone, they chipped it in 2 places. And when they finally put the chimney cap on, they simply put the new one over the old rusted cap, instead of doing a professional job by replacing it.
Despite a cracked hearth, 2 chips in the facade and a poorly installed chimney cap, the best that Gas Works would do for me was reduce my bill by a couple hundred dollars.
I am very dissatisfied with the work that Gas Works did at my house.

Another company had claimed that I had a leak in my gas logs. Gas Works came out, checked the logs and all of the pipes, fittings, etc. There was no leak and Gas Works made sure that everything was safe and sound.

I came across Jay's by accident when a neighbor had an emergency (which they tended to at 10:00pm). Jay's son, Johnnie was very courteous when I inquired about services offered. I called them to schedule and they arrived the next day. Due to rain, they had to delay the works but arrived on time of the rescheduled date. Johnnie, Jay and Greg were perhaps some of the best contractors I have dealt with to date. Prices were very good and professionalism and courtesy were even better. Johnnie didn't try to up-sell us on the more expensive damper as they felt the cheaper one was sufficient. Even when I inquired about additional services they recommended that I not spend money unnecessarily! I can't say enough about this small family owned business. No nonsense, great guys!
