We had been looking to upgrade our kitchen condo beige formica countertops since we moved in three years ago. We got estimates from the big box home stores and were informed that they didn't remove the old countertops or dispose of them, they didn't level the existing cabinets and that we had to hire contractors with no referrals from them for either. We couldn't find a color we really liked at the big box because the samples were so small at those stores and we kept putting off the expenditure which was estimated to be over $4,000. We kind of gave up on the countertop replacements when one afternoon we were driving up Lancaster Avenue in Frazer and saw the "Spring special" sign for Corinthian Marble and Granite. We pulled in and went into a showroom full of model kitchens and an expansive display of granite available. Joe Katz was the totally non-pushy salesman who came over and talked to us about cost and process, then led us into the warehouse where the giant slabs of granite were lined up and being fabricated. We followed Joe down the row until we found a slab that we thought would suit our needs. We set up a template date, followed by an install date. They did not require as others would that we lose our kitchen for two weeks while they worked on the countertops. In fact, we (my husband and I) took off the old countertops and disconnected everything the day before our install date. We shut off all our water due to a small leak we could not seem to contain and lost our countertops for only a day and a half! After so many contractors or repair men either showing up late or not showing up at all, imagine our surprise when Corinthian showed up a couple of hours early, asking if it was o.k. to do the install. We were delighted. The installers went to work right away. The granite was stunning...one piece was 400lbs (they managed to cut an "L" without needing a seam which the big box guys told us we would need. They leveled the cabinets, the sink was installed, the dishwasher put back in place, and the granite was sealed. They were courteous, professional, and so very talented at what they did. We were just amazed. Since there is no "middle man" and Corinthian is a fabricator who has the slabs on site, we were able to accomplish our goal for around 1/2 the cost projected by the big box stores. We plan to send anyone we know who is planning to remodel their kitchen to Joe and Corinthian.
