P & L Remodeling

P&L did the roof replacement and left many of the old nails lying in the grass and flower beds around our yard even though they came to clean up twice. The first time that it rained after the job was completed we had a large leak in the ceiling and one wall. We called P&L who told us he could not come for several days, so we called an emergency roof repair company and they came on the same day and found that flashing installed by P&L around our chimney was installed incorrectly. The new company installed temporary flashing to stop the leak. They also found that the entire roof was installed improperly, there were nails visible in the water line in many places around the roof. P&L claimed that he used contract labor instead of his labor because he was busy.
P&L replaced the entire roof and chimney flashing for a second time after the shoddy work was found, as that was recommended to me by a third party inspector as the only correct fix. P&L used their own labor this time and did gave me new gutters for the trouble that they caused. I paid to have the new roof inspected after it was replaced. The shingles passed inspection but the chimney flashing did not pass; the step flashing was not properly installed and there were nails in the wrong places. P&L replaced the flashing again. The next time it rained the roof leaked again in the area of the flashing. P&L made excuses that there was other problems causing the leak even though it never leaked before the new roof and flashing was installed.
We cut ties with P&L after that and had the flashing replaced by another roofing company, which stopped the leaks. We had to make a new insurance claim to have the interior water damage repaired after the leaks were finally fixed.
