They are reliable, they come on time and they have an annual membership that includes heating, cooling and plumbing check up.

I received a quote from the sales rep that was quite thorough and reasonably priced but eventually went with another contractor.

Carney's rep showed up to look at our 7 year old water heater which was not keeping water hot for more than a 5 minute shower, which Carney installed in our home. We had purchased an extended warranty from them, and was told by their rep it covered "parts and labor". He was supposed to show between 9a-noon. He did not show up until nearly 3pm, and only after two calls to the office. Things went downhill from there. After about an hour, he presented us with a bill for $700 to replace a dip tube an anode rod, saying this was what he needed to "fix" our water heater (a $200 repair at most). When inquired about the $190 warranty he told us it was "parts only". I would not purchase a "parts only" warranty for a water heater. Besides the tank going, I know most water heater parts would be fairly inexpensive. I even showed the plumber our invoice, which has written on it "10-year warranty - $190". After politely asking him to leave, we contacted corporate and got a call back the next day. They explained the original person who worked on our water heater no longer worked at the company, but was fired for doing "things like this in the past". They offered to cut the bill roughly $300 (not even half), and apologized for the person who was originally dishonest. We found a plumber who replaced our water heater with the exact same one for slightly more than the original $700 estimate. Carney has lost both our business and our respect. Buyer beware.
Response from Carney Plumbing Heating & Cooling

"We are extremely disappointed that Mr. [Member Name Removed] was dissatisfied with our service, we will always be the first to blame ourselves for a bad experience. That being said it seems as though there were a series of miscommunications that occurred here. We did apologize for our technician being late and multiple calls were made to keep the customer informed of this. We do give a window of service and we do our very best to keep that time frame but unfortunately the nature of our business can dictate this at times. In regards to the warranty, what was purchased was a manufacturer warranty which takes the existing 6 year tank and parts warranty to 10 years. The warranty information that was provided clearly indicates this and there is nothing on our original invoice that states our labor would also be covered for 10 years. We provide a 2 year labor warranty on water heaters and we currently do not offer any extended labor warranties. As far as the technician in question, he was never let go for dishonesty or anything of the sort, he just simply doesn't work here anymore. The apology offered was not at all for dishonesty but rather for any lack of communication between the former employee and Mr. [Member Name Removed]. This was clearly expressed on a phone call and I am completely baffled by his interpretation. Lastly, the price given was to drain down and thoroughly flush out the tank, replace the defective parts and to do a full diagnostic on the remaining parts such as the elements and thermostats. Any additional parts would have been replaced at no additional charge at the new lower price that was given. Perhaps our technician failed to communicate this properly and that's why Mr. [Member Name Removed] thought the price was too high. Please understand that we felt like we made every attempt to satisfy this customer including discounting the job tremendously for any miscommunication that may have occurred previously. We sincerely value each and every relationship that we have with our customers and we hope that Mr. [Member Name Removed] will give us chance to earn his business back at some point in the future."

Carney was most reasonable out of 3 proposals and got it done in 1 day. The dig went well, but would have preferred more regrading of the yard to level things out.

They wanted $288 to remove the cartridges and flush them out a half hour job(they sent two men). I always try to hire local contractors but will never recommend or use Carney !!

Successfully completed within one hour-but price is outrageous! a simple snake was all that was needed and they had the gall to tell me that's the price of doing business. Will never use again
Response from Carney Plumbing Heating & Cooling

"We do our very best to provide the highest level of service at a fair price. Upon having a phone conversation with this customer, I am disappointed to say that she failed to see this value at the time of her service call. All of our pricing is presented before any work begins and although she may not have been pleased with this aspect I am happy to see that we scored higher in other areas, perhaps some of this value was realized after all. We appreciate the feedback regardless, we are always striving to better serve our customers!"

They are always punctual, quite clean, and professional. On Friday of memorial day weekend, we had a blockage in our pipes that backed up the kitchen sink and bathrooms. They came right out and got it squared away. They did not charge us extra even though they sent a second plumber and it took about five hours for the two of them to get the pipes open.

Absolutely perfect! Carney asked for a copy of the manuals for the new stove so they could see an example of the back and where to place the new lines. Very professional!

Work was completed in less time that initially estimated. The only issue was that we were not told how to flush trapped air in the water lines. When they replaced the hot water heater 8 years ago this was done for us. Also, there was an additional cost (approx. $200) to what was agreed to in the contract.

They have done a very good job for me. They have done repairs, they installed a whole house generator and they maintain it, they have put in a hot water heater and they do general repairs. I like working with them they do a good job, so I said I need a hot water heater they put it in, I made no price comparisons. The work is high quality, the work has always been completed in one day and I've never had any problems with anything they have installed.

They are excellent. I have used them several times. I am a repeat customer of theirs. Most recently, I had a problem with our air conditioning during the 90 degree snaps we had a couple of weeks ago, I left a message sometime after six at night and then, I had a technician out at my house the next morning at 8 o’ clock. They have good service. They respond to service. They show up when they say they are going to come. They do the job at a fair price and they stand by their work. It is more expensive than some other HVAC companies, but they do get it right so it is worth paying the extra money.

We had a sudden sewer backup and were unable to resolve the issue ourselves.  Since we had a similar issue the year prior, we decided we needed a professional to take a look and get the sewer unclogged.  We called Carney PHC because we used them to install a new HVAC system in our home and were regular maintenance customers.  Jeremy was dispatched to our home and arrived that afternoon.  He snaked the entire length of the sewer line.  Once he removed the tree roots blocking the line, he was able to insert the camera to view the problems.  The camera showed the line had cracked and was also sunken causing the tree roots to enter and clog the line... not uncommon for a house over 50 years old.  We were able to use the sewer again so we scheduled the sewer line replacement to take place after the first of the year.  Everything was handled through Carney PHC.... the Call One notification, the township inspector, the company to do the trenching, etc.  We are very please with the quality of work and the professional way everything was handled.  Thank you, Jeremy, Bob and Sarah.  It was a pleasure dealing with all of you.

"Hi [Member Name Removed], It was our utmost pleasure to serve you. We know that plumbing -especially sewer- issues are never something that you want to deal with but we are all happy that we could make the process as easy as possible. We appreciate you taking the time to write this review and will pass along your gratitude to all of the parties mentioned. We wish you a prosperous New Year. All the best, Carney PHC!"
