They are excellent and family operated. I would highly recommend them and I would definitely hire them again.

The original person who responded had to be out of town, but brought another staff by to explain the job. Work done within a week of contact. Helpful guys with good attitudes, willing to explain, do teaching and give drywall tips as well. It is difficult to get electricians to respond/finish work in this area, so I am very glad to have found Beaufort - they have always been easy to contact, manage their business responsibly, and do a good job.

The first time I used them, I'd woken up to a very cold house during late fall about a year ago.    They came out quickly and when I told them that someone had been working on the chimney where the furnace exhaust exits, they quickly diagnosed the issue, showed me what had happened (the chimney worker - unaffiliated with them - had dumped a ton of debris down the chimney as he was reconstructing the chimney which blocked the furnace exhaust with about 2 ft of dirt and debris).  Beaufort cleaned out all the debris, had the furnace working again in short order, were not disparaging about the age of the furnace, didn't try to sell me a new furnace, and charged me very little.  I think the bill for the emergency call, removing all the soot, and teaching me about the issue was under $100.  The guy who came out was kind and forthright, and I decided to use them when possible for work on the rest of the old house I've renovated.

 I've been putting off getting a faucet put onto the back of the house because had been worried about the expense.  The OTHER local plumbing company had charged a truly stunning amount for 4 hours of plumbing work to run new plumbing to my new bathroom renovation upstairs.  At this contact, I also asked Beaufort to remove an ancient water filter that wasn't replaceable because nothing comparable is sold anymore - another project I'd put off, believing it would be too expensive.  
 
Getting anyone to do smaller jobs in this area can be agonizing and larger jobs are quoted at extremely high rates seemingly because they can get away with it.  

I'd called Beaufort when the weather was in the 50's - these projects weren't urgent.  This morning it was snowing and I'd tried to give them the opportunity to wait until a better day, but they came out and weren't at all concerned about the weather.  Both of the guys were wonderful - friendly, "can-do, no problem" attitude, and they had BOTH of the projects done in 45 minutes.  They explained everything very well about how they'd connected things and what to do in extremely cold weather.  They explained the pricing and again, I'm very surprised at how reasonable their prices are compared to the other main services in town.  
Please don't hesitate to use this company.   They answer their phones, don't leave you hanging, seem to be able to arrange to get work done within a reasonable time frame for non-emergency work,  have good employees with good attitudes  and they charge a reasonable price.

They quoted one price but billed a higher one.  In this instance the electrician came out while we also called the manufacturer of a machine that we believed may have cause the blown fuse.  We learned from the machine manufacturer over the phone that a ball-bearing issue in the machine caused the issue, so the electrician left without completing any work other than stopping out.  We were quoted $45 for the electrician to come out.  However, when we received our bill it stated "check AC/DC voltage on machine for a total of $75."  We have yet to call the electrician because it was recent but we do not recommend this electrician due to this type of service.
