Lower Your Heating Bill

They inspected my chimney and gas heater vent and told us that it did not seem to need cleaning. I would definitely use them again and will in the Spring.

Let me set the senerio for where we live. It is a remote area where most service providers are an hours drive away. Most service people will try to schedule more than one job in our area in one day so it is tough to pin anyone down for an exact arrival time. We also have no cell phone reception in our area. With that said, he did arrive later than he thought, but he did let us know he would be a couple of hours late.
After he arrived he got right to work. He cleaned and inspected our chimney in the rain, he did show my husband a cracked chimney liner tile on the top which needs repaired. He also told us about other safety concerns with our stove being too close to the wall, Stove pipe going into the wall is too small, no door on cleanout, etc. He did provide a fireproof cloth at no charge to close up the cleanout until we can get a door put on it.
Gave us an estimate for fixing the cracked liner, cleaning the rust and creosote off the outside of the chimney, replacing the cap with stainless steel, putting a door on the cleanout and getting the correct size stove pipe into the wall. He said we are good to go for the winter, and to call him in the spring to get on his schedule for a summer repair of the Chimney.
He only charged me for a hour, I insisted he take money for the other 1/2 hour of time he spent with us explaning things and showing us things that were wrong and giving us tips. After I paid him he still spent another 1/2 hour with us until 7:00 P.M. on a Saturday night talking. We are going to have him back in the summer for the repairs. FYI, he does carry any chimney items you may need brushes etc. Good Guy.
