It is a rare occurrence when end results surpass my expectations, but that is exactly what happened with my recent bathroom remodel. Not only was the craftsmanship top-notch, Rich is incredibly easy to work with. His recommendations, such as adding a light above the shower and a timer for the exhaust fan were spot-on. He was respectful of my home, cleaning up after himself each work day. His hourly rate is more than fair.

Rich is selective in the projects he will take on. However, if he agrees to work on your project, consider yourself fortunate. You will not be disappointed!

Rich Zeppa is a remarkable craftsman. We called him, made an appointment and he showed up precisely at the agreed upon time. We told him what he wanted to do and he actually took notes so nothing would be left to chance. Since Rich does a lot of work in our area he was able to recommend a close residence for us to visit so we could see an example of his work. Even though the work was completed several years ago, it still looked brand new. Rich has his preferred vendors. If you use them he can give you great pricing and materials. However he is comfortable using materials from other vendors if you choose do do so. Rich respected the fact that he was working in our home. To that end he protected our carpets and hardwood flooring. He also cleaned up all waste everyday. Mr. Zeppa has an eye for detail. For example, the shower tile had a small flaw that we could barely see. Most would have installed it anyway. Rich returned it immediately and reordered the replacement. The shipment arrived in just a few days. He inspected every tile to make sure is met his standard before installing it. Our last visit involved paying him. This was one check I was very pleased to write. We want hm to come back to do our kitchen. I think having someone come back to do more work is the strongest form of a testimonial.

He was very attentive to details and meticulous in every aspect. He was very professional and great to work with. I would recommend him to anyone.

We sought Richard for a full master bathroom remodel after a friend had a similarly great experience with him.  Our experience with Richard can be stated as wonderful.  That is, if wonderful is having your project completed to your satisfaction!  Ours was!  Clearly Richard is talented. Moreover, he brings two essential skills which are invaluable.  Experience and Trust.

Richard is a talented contractor.  His skills abound, with awesome tile work, great design ideas, masterful carpentry, and a leaning toward reuse which is outstanding.  Any one of these trade skills is a blessing, yet somehow Richard has them all.

With his years of experience, it is clear that Richard understands the subtlies of the project at hand. From awesome ?I?ve seen this done this way? recommendations, to the checking ahead efforts to avoid pitfalls, we learned that Richard is knowledgeable in a manner of impact to his customers. 
Leads to Trust
Ultimately, when you hire someone, it requires trust.  Richard earns this quickly with his communication and results.  He works with his suppliers to ensure that the quality of the products is as expected, the installation updates and the many minor decisions he shares continuously builds trust with his clients.  We were always impressed with the details he shared with us, and how he accepted our own suggestions too.
Bottom Line
Not having a formal design, but being led through all the nuanced decisions as they occurred truly provided a beneficial outcome.  As a remodel, there are small, unexpected issues to address (e.g., walls not square, additional aesthetics to consider, "If I did this, it will be better" etc.) which under another methodology would require a re-plan, re-estimates, and re-approvals; essentially time consuming.  With Richard, we worked through each issue, arriving at a final product well beyond our first vision.  We were on budget and time.  He is efficient, detailed-oriented, and clearly seeks to impress.  A truly rare, yet great combination in a contractor!

Finally getting around to a review since having master bath  remodeled. Joe and Rich did a great job and tried to accomodate my needs and wishes.  They removed a 1992 whirlpool tub and molded shower and replaced it with a modern bathtub and beautiful tiled shower. The tiled floors were installed perfectly and Rich suggested radiant heat which was perfect during this cold winter. Rich installed the bathroom door as well and there was no need for any other contractor to come in to do any of the work. The bathroom looks wonderful and it is a pleasure to use it. During construction a  second floor toilet value leaked and created a mess requiring a remediation company to come in to dry walls out. They took off moulding and tore down drywall. Rich was very kind to come in and do the repairs needed to get us back to normal. I am very appreciative of his willingness to help us out though it had nothing to do with the job we hired him for.He also repaired drywall from an old leak in my foyer and saved time and money by finding a creative solution to the repair.  Pretty smart guy who knows the business.  And to top it off, during all this my laundry room sink fell off the wall and Rich jumped in to take care of that. All and all he has been there to do the work he promised and to help with these unexpected issues during that time.

Rich and Joe removed old tile from my dining room and kitchen and installed new tile.

Rich and Joe removed fake brick wall paneling and installed dry wall

Rich and Joe installed the kitchen cabinets (under cabinet led lights) & cabinet pulls, sink (sink faucet) & garbage disposal, appliances (range, microwave, & dishwasher).

Rich and Joe installed backsplash tile and countertop (Cambria quartz).

Rich and a Joe did a great job remodeling my dining room and kitchen.

PERFECTION . . . . the one word that seems to summarize the work that was done by Rich and Joe in our master bathroom.   They took an outdated 90s style bathroom with a fiberglass shower and gigantic, rarely used garden tub and turned it into a roomy, spa-like bathroom with a contemporary walk in shower (with two shower heads, 3 body sprays, shelves, niche, and seat) and a spacious linen closet.

Rich is an out of the box thinker who, at the core of his nature, is incapable of anything less than perfection.  He analytically approaches each detail of the job.  Life experience and education provides Rich with the ability recognize and avoid costly mistakes and the knowledge to solve the most challenging problems. 

The plumbing work was an engineering feat in itself, but the true perfection came with the way the porcelain and glass tile was installed.  The result is truly amazing and no detail was overlooked.  It should be noted that the tile was laid in a contemporary "stacked" pattern, which is very challenging because the least bit of inaccuracy or crookedness jumps out at you as a glaring mistake.  You won't find that in our bathroom!

We started the process with a general design plan and a long wish list.  Rich showed us how we could achieve the plan as well as many "like to have" design features (some of which we hadn?t even considered) . . .  all within our budget.  This alone is an achievement that no other contract company we talked with could come close to achieving. 

Throughout the construction, the communications were crucial.  Each time a decision was needed, Rich would let us know at least the day before so we could think it over and give him the answer in time to start the work as planned.  This really worked well for everyone. 

Rich has a business model that other home improvement contractors should definitely consider.  The cost of the job is completely transparent and reasonable.  However, please don?t get the impression that remodeling a bathroom is a small endeavor.  It is costly and takes a significant amount of time.  It took close to 3 weeks to remodel our bathroom, but each time I go into the room I love what I see.

Rich and his partner did a great job.   The backsplash looks great.   Also, the walls that once contained outdated wallpaper are now looking great.  I removed the wallpaper, but Rick and company resurfaced the walls that allowed me to paint the rooms,  This was the third project Rich performed for us.   We are always pleased with the outcome and are planning more home improvement projects requiring Rich's service.   Rich is the man!

As expected - he was busy but was able to meet my schedule.  Work was good quality.

Let us just start by saying "AMAZING". The quality of work performed by Rich and Joe was outstanding. To begin with, Deb and I were a little apprehensive about removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room due to all of the wiring, cold and hot air ducts, central vac, etc. But when we met with Rich the first time in January, he assured us it was no issue at all. He was certainly right, he made it a simple transition. When Rich removed the wall(He is an out of the box thinker, coming up with great ideas), he had an idea to keep the top part of the wall, so as not to mess up the current swirled ceiling. He came up with the idea to make an arch where the wall WAS, and it was spectacular. It makes the room, and he had the artistic touch to make it look perfect. He is very talented with his dry wall work, and it looks like it was always there. What a touch!
We also want to express  it was nice to know from the beginning that we could pick any cabinet, counter top, tile, anything of our choosing, and he would make it work. 
It was great to know that Rich and Joe were there from beginning to end, not leaving until the job was complete to our satisfaction. They performed all of the removal during deconstruction, and wiring/plumbing, installing the quartz counter tops, and due to his artistic touch, made the kitchen look like a modern part of our house which we are so proud of.
 Oh yeah, Rich shows up on  the exact minute at 7:30 every day, you can set your watch by it, and Joe comes right behind him at 8:00

Rich was very professional, prompt, and had great attention to detail. He provided us with all the companies he does business with and gave us contact names. He was very easy to work with as were all of the companies we dealt with. We absolutely love our new bathroom and appreciate all of Rich's hard work.

Excellent! Rich worked with us to design a fabulous master bath. He is imaginative and delivers on his ideas. He is a gifted builder who provided all aspects of the remodeling work himself, skillful in all aspects of construction. He directed us to distributors where we obtained the best materials at discounted prices. He delivered on time and well below our budget. He is careful and even hand cleaned-up debris each day. We were tremendously pleased and have a tall list of future projects for him.

He is unbelievable, he is so good. He is an artist; he is more than just a construction guy. He knows design and he has a real eye for color. His prices were reasonable. He is a master in whatever he does. We wanted the retro look and he put the subway tiles all along the wall and it is gorgeous. This is an old house and nothing is square, so he knows what to do. He comes when he says he is coming. When he leaves at the end of the day he cleans up everything. We have a couple of pets and he never had a problem or never let one escape. He will work with you. My husband is pretty handy and could do some of the work upfront and he doesn't have a problem with that.

We ordered the fixtures, bath closure and vanity top. Once delivered, everything was installed.   Throughout the process, Rich was professional and always on time to start the job.   He made it clear up front the approximate number of hours the job would take and easily met that and kept me under my budget.  Highly recommend!

We met with Richard for over two hours the first time he came to the house. He had great ideas to help us with what we wanted to do. He suggested where to go to look at vanities, pluming fixtures, tile and granite. We went to the places he suggested and were very happy with the design help we received. So bottom line we ordered all the supplies and about 6 weeks later they started. After about 3 weeks we had more then we ever thought was possible. We will us Richard Zeppa again, he and his partner Mike's work is top of the line in all aspects. The BEST experience we ever had with a contractor.

Fantastic experience  Rich Zeppa came out and gave a very educated estimate to remodel our
kitchen in May 2012 with an approx amount of weeks to do the work. We
could not fit him in till July 2012. He made every effort to work around
our schedule to start the work. We were very pleased with his work and
is estimate of time was right on even with the week wait for the
counters. We were very pleased with his work, the time it took to get
completed and the price.

I would rate them an A overall. I would absolutely use them in the future.

This company's work is impeccable.  They are prompt, extremely courteous, neat & clean.  Attention to detail is superb. They are very knowledgeable aobut code compliance; in other words they do it right.  Any existing unforseen problems from previous contractors that they came across during the remodel were corrected. In addition to the bathroom remodel, we pointed out several other problems we had around the house, including painting and pre-existing electrical issues; they fixed them all!!!   Their work went above and beyond what was originally requested.  If you are looking to have any type of remodeling or home construction work and are seeking excellent professional quality, look no furhter than this company.  I would gladly show anyone their work if someone wants a reference.   The only negative in my experience with this company was the length of time for completion; but it was not this company's fault. One of the suppliers they used, Fagers a plumbing and bathroom fixture supplier, was terrible in providing fixtures in a timely fashion. So shop around for suppliers. When the proper fixtures were finally supplied, the work was completed timely.

It all went well but we are disappointed with the color variation of the grout.  Don't think it was their fault.

Rich Zeppa is very likable and easy to work with from the project's beginning until its end.
