My 17 year old lady cat, Musya, God bless her little heart, was in hospice care with me (through VSEC) for the last few months of her life. I've been with my girl since I was 11years old. Im 28 now. She's been my best friend, my confidant, my cat mom, my therapist throughout all these joyful years. Yesterday she suddenly declined and Lap of Love couldn't come for an in home euthanasia until today. Musya looked like she was in agony last night, her eyes were wide, her pupils were big, she couldn't get comfortable, and I thought if I could be with her the whole time throughout the euthanasia procedure, it would be okay. She would start yowling for me even if I would go to the kitchen to grab a snack and I'd return to comfort immediately and she would stop. Before going to VSEC, I called them to MAKE SURE that I could be there with Musya throughout the entire euthanasia, I didn't want to leave her side for minute. The woman I spoke to on the phone told me yes that I could and thats the only situation where they allow clients to enter the hospital. That was my only caveat was to be able to be there with her. I warmed up a cat carrier, lined it with soft baby blankets and my pillow case so Musya could smell me, and once I put her into the carrier she immediately became very upset. I told Musya it would be okay and that im going to be with her the whole time. I drove to VSEC through the snowing conditions and when I arrived I was greeted by a girl at the front door and she told me that they were going to take my Musya "to the back" and I can't come inside. I told them no, absolutely not, im not leaving her. What the heck is "the back" what is so horrible that happens there that I can't be with her? I was told No several times despite the phone conversation I had before coming out, my cat is cold in her carrier and this horrible front desk girl is making us stand outside and won't take us into the euthanasia room because she insists that Musya has to be "brought back" first to have a catheter placed. I said I had no problem with the catheter being placed with me in the euthanasia room, but this unempathetic block of ice was adamant that I cannot come in with Musya under any circumstances. A tech came up and backed up the front desk girl and both were telling me that I couldn't be there with my baby. The tech proceeded to say that i should wait until the morning for Lap of Love because "nothing much will change by then". How can your technicians be saying such things when they're not even doctors??! I couldn't do that to my little girl, leave her to be "taken back" to whatever happens in "the back" that clients shouldn't see. I ended up leaving with my little darling. I am so appalled by this extreme level of uncaring and unprofessionalism and false claims displayed by this hospital. I feel guilty for putting Musya through all this stress because I was initially told I could be there with her the whole time. Much did change in the next few hours. After suffering for another 10 hours since that awful escapade, my baby died agonizingly at home before Lap of Love could even get here. It was so stressful and heartbreaking. How can your technicians possibly make such statements that nothing much will change by morning, she suffered in agony because of your awful and uncaring employees. If you care about your babies, don't take them to this horrible establishment.

Instead of doing surgery, they have an eye drop that is supposed to do something to the cataracts and over time it makes the cataract dissolve. I have been doing the treatment since August. He is the only doctor in the area and overall, he is a fantastic doctor.

The surgery went well - it was a difficult surgery, and the doctor did an excellent job. However, our dog's post-op care was horrible. A vet tech placed an Elizabethan collar on her inside out such that the hard plastic notches that hold it in place were digging into her incision. This is equivalent to having a sharp knife scrape a fresh wound any time you move. This caused our dog 2 days of excessive pain until we figured it out. We pointed this out to the facility, and they did not offer any apology for their mistake. This was malpractice, and they can't even apologize. Their front office staff are compassionate, caring and kind. The doctor we had was great. But a vet tech made a really stupid error, and they are refusing to even apologize. I don't think I would use them again.

We have done it a few times, and we take them there all the time. It is an emergency place in the area. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and if you have an emergency, you just walk in, they triage you right away, and they take care of whatever your situation is. They also do specialty stuff. We had a cat that had cancer, so we went there for treatment, we had a cat that had an eye problem and we went there, and every single person that works there is amazing.

They're closer to me.  They're more expensive but they are open on Friday afternoons and weekends.  He stayed there about a week.  It was quite a bit of money.  That was for a one week stay.    By the time the cat got back he was eating and he was fine.  It's like a walk in clinic so you may never know how long you have to wait.  As far as I know the care was excellent.  They had good responsiveness.  The staff there is pretty unpersonal.

My puppy jumped down and landed on her front paw causing a fracture at the growth plate. I took dog to primary vet who stated that this was more than they could handel and recommeded us to VSEC. We drove right up there and were met by the most caring staff that I ever saw. They rushed her back to their trama area and took ex-rays and casted her. We met with the attending vet who stated that the puppy needed surgery and that we had to come back on Monday and meet Dr. Catherine A. Popovitch their orthopedic surgeon. We returned and met with this doctor who sat with us and explained that the fracture was just at the growth plate and she hoped that she could attach a palte with screws to both ares of the fracture as so that the bone continued to grow. We scheduled the surgery for the next day and Dr. Popovitch used her skilled hands and did in fact have enough room to attach this plate to both areas. She saved my dogs leg from going limp. What a skilled surgon she is and also friendly with great bed side manners. We did come back for 6 weeks so that the surgeon could see the progress and each time Dr. Popovitch met with us and gave us an update. The physicallity is so so clean with a great and friendly atmosphere. Staff is friendly, very helpful and compassionet. While I was there and sitting in their E.R. area I saw many dogs being brought in by their owners and each dog was given the upmost care. I truly recommed VSEC Vet hospital to all.

This place is wonderful. Clean, caring, etc. I've actually been there twice - once for a test on my cat and another time when my daughters cat ran away for 3 days & he was dehydrated. They gave him fluids and you just know that they cared. It's very expensive there but it's worth the price. I now have a puppy & hopefully won't need them since they're emergency only but if they took non-emergency pets, they would be my vet.

Dr. Klag is Chief of Internal Medicine and a partner in VSEC. He is a superb doctor. He was very candid about my Dog's condition and her chances of recovery. He took a real interest in her well-being and was very good at letting me know her condition; sometimes several times a day. Happily, he managed to pull her through, although she still has to go back for frequent blood tests.

Due to his many health issues my cat is a complicated case.  After a false start elsewhere we came to VSEC.  He treats with Dr. Peter Chapman.  The staff and nurses, especially Kevin, are very gentle with my cat who many times is upset from travelling. When he is there for an all day test he is kept in a quiet place with his own carrier inside his cage so he can feel safe inside it if he chooses.
Dr. Chapman is wonderful with my cat. He answers all my questions and listens carefully to the answers I give to his.  He includes me in the decision making process about the treatment plan for my cat.
Everyone is polite and friendly and the facility is well lit and clean.  The phone is answered promptly and there is always a reminder call about appointments.   When one of my other pets was hospitalised at VSEC it was possible to get regular updates and visits with her were encouraged. In an emergency or to see a specialist I could not imagine going elsewhere.

It's crazy expensive and they didn't do the surgery correctly. So he has to have a second surgery. I don't recommend them to any one.

We have been going here for years.  What an awesome animal hospital.  You Except for emergency care, you need a referal from you primary vet to see a specialist here.  VSEC does not provide routine pet care, only emergency and specialty.  There new facility rivals some people hospitals.

As stated above we were referred to VSEC when our Golden vomitted over a two day period and then stopped eating.  They were very prompt and professional in the handling of our beloved pet.  The dog required surgery to remove the obstruction and she is back to normal.
The facility is brand new, large and impressive. I can't imagine anything a pet might need that they can't provide. The staff and the vets are warm and empathetic. I believe the treatment our dog received was as good as it comes.  Just make sure to bring your credit card along - after diagnosis, nothing happens until you cover a majority of the estimated costs for services.

There were very efficient. The environment was clean and quiet. The staff was very sensitive and kind. We did have to wait for the doctor for awhile, but who knows what other emergencies were going on behind the scenes. They also had many tests to run before the doctor came in. They explained everything clearly and were very well educated in their profession. When I went to pick her up, the vet tech was very good at explaining all wound care, warnings, feeding, and comforting my dog. They printed out all the instructions for me.

I know a lot of veterinarians and I liked using this hospital because they work with a lot of rescued animals. They really know how to approach a dog that has been roaming the streets for a long time. They have the patience and gentleness that it takes to deal with them.

She specializes in acupuncture and she's is really good at it. They have 24 hour emergency pet care if you ever need it. They also have an orthopedic specialist if your animal ever has back troubles.
