Paul and his crew did a great job of removing all existing pavers, cleaning them, adding an additional area and also installing drain piping from our downspouts to our backyard. When they were done it turned out so much better than the original work which was done. They showed up on time and stayed until the job was complete even though we increased the amount of work to be done as the project went on. We are more than pleased with everything done and the price charged considering the amount of work which was done.

Paul's Landscaping is the best price for my area. Many other landscapers/lawn care services would not even come to my town. I just it isn't high class enough for them. Paul's cut my grass 2x a month during the summer. His crew is friendly and quick! I wish they would not blow the clipped grass into my flower beds when they are finished. But for the price and the willingness to work in my town you can not beat them!

On Wednesday, 4/22/15, a verbal contract agreement was struck between myself and Sandy Astorga of Paul's Lawn and Landscaping to have my lawn mowed every OTHER week, meaning every two weeks, starting with 4/27/15.  We also agreed on a paper bill being sent to my home, NOT an e-mail, since I explained to Mrs. Astorga I suffer from Carpal Tunnel and Ulnar Tunnel Syndrome disease, which strictly limits my PC abilities.

Carpal and Ulnar Tunnel Syndrome is a serious disease that causes extreme pain in the hands, wrists, and arms, and numbness and loss of sensation in the hands and fingers.  It creates inflammation that damages the surrounding nerves regulating the muscles and tendons of the hand, wrist, and elbow.  It can cause irreparable harm to these nerves, causing permanent disability and loss of use of the effected hand and arm.

According to Sandy, she sent me a bill via an E-mail, the exact opposite of the method agreed upon.  She did not provide a date as to when it was sent.  Since I get literally 100's of e-mails a day which I neither read nor respond to, I didn't search for it.  I don't really use e-mail any more.  Simply typing this response and requesting a dispute resolution is detrimental to both of my hands, wrists, and arms.  I had major surgery to prevent further nerve function deterioration by the disease in 2001. It was successful for about 3-4 years.  The disease returned and is worse.  It now effects both arms, wrists and hands.

Mowing took place place on the following dates: 4/27, 5/11, 6/2, and 6/16.  The mowing crew did not show up on 6/26, as scheduled and, as a result, no mowing was done that day.  Mrs. Astorga never called to tell me her crew would not be showing up.  I had to track her down and was finally able to reach her Friday, 5/29, when she indicated her crews were backed up due to Memorial Day.   The next mowing date was then scheduled for the following week and took place 6/2.

On 5/11, her crew caused damage to my side would fence.  I called her on 5/11 during this first incident and she spoke to her foreman, Sean.  She called me back during the 5/11 mowing session to let me know Sean wanted to make sure his crew would not cause any further damage by his crew to my side would fence.  Sandy Astoria said Sean would move his crew and their equipment to the rear of my property line and come in through the back gate.  This did NOT resolve the problem or prevent further damage to my fence.

During the 6/2 mowing session, her crew, due to their negligent, careless disregard for my real estate property, caused additional damage to my wood fence.  I called her on several occasions to inform her that she needed to address this issue.  She did not answer her phone and I left her a detailed message.

After her crew damaged my fence for a second time on 6/2, I searched for another lawn mowing service.  On such short notice and in the middle of a very busy mowing season, it is next to impossible to find another such company.  I was forced to continue using Paul's Lawn and Landscaping until such time as I was able to hire another mowing service.   It was not until mid July that I was able to locate another one.

Previous to Paul's Lawn and Landscaping crew's disastrous treatment of my property, my wood fence was in very good condition and completely intact.  My side would fence is 31 feet long and only covers a small portion of one side of my backyard, and yet Paul's Lawn and Landscaping still managed to destroy it.  Thankfully, the rest of my fencing is chain link, otherwise who knows how much more damage they may have caused..

Now several of the wood slats, at the bottom of the fence have their nails pulled away from their wood support beams, leaving the slats loose and no longer attached at the bottom.  A couple of the slats are completely pulled off the fence, still others are pulled away from each other can not be straightened out.  Another slat is broken in half in the middle and is jutting out precariously in the shape of a V.  Several other slats have large parts of their bottoms broken off leaving sharp jagged edges, with splintered wood.  These jagged pieces of wood pose dangerous bodily harm to my two small dogs who use the backyard several times daily.

I contacted a fencing company and they came to my home on Wednesday, 9/2/15, to provide me with the cost for replacing the fence.  Repairing the parts of the fence that are damaged would require a fencing company to find exact matching wood salts and then paint the whole fence.  Any of the fencing companies I spoke with do not offer that kind of service.  They can only replace the fence.  Since I have only lived here for a year, I asked the fencing company Estimator to assess the age of my fence.  After examining my wood fence and determining its age, they stated it is between 6 and 8 years old, and also said it should have lasted 15 to 20 years.  The lifespan of my wood fence has been cut by more than half due to the negligence of Paul's Lawn and Landscaping.

From 5/11 through present date, Sandy Astoria has made no attempt to apologize to me for the damage her crew caused.  She did not offer to repair my wood fence to my satisfaction, nor to replace it.  She has ignored the situation.  It would seem Paul's Lawn and Landscaping does not intend to address this issue and only wishes to evade and undermine the truth.  As a result, I feel unfairly treated and taken advantage of.

The actual fact is her crew came to my home to mow my lawn on 4 separate scheduled occasions: 4/27, 5/11, 6/2, and 6/16,  NOT 7 times as she claims.   NO mowing was done from 5/12 through 6/1, and NO mowing was done from 6/3 through 6/15.  The last time mowing was done was on  6/16.  The schedule for mowing my lawn was EVERY TWO weeks , NOT on  random dates, as her bill shows.  During two of those dates, 5/11 and 6/2, her crew ruined my side wood fence.  During 6/2, part of the easement area directly behind my property line, was also mowed by their crew for an additional charge of $30.

After repeatedly calling Sandy Astorga about not receiving a paper bill yet, I finally received a paper bill in the mail on Thursday, August 28th, 2015.  The bill arrived with an attached letter which indicated that someone was coming to my home on the following day, Friday, August 29th, to collect payment.  The letter also stated I should attach a check to my front door in the amount of $254.40, (which is an incorrect amount), so whoever arrived could pick it up.  The letter did not indicate who would be showing up, nor what time of day they would arrive.

I don't make it a habit of leaving my personal information out in public view, so even if the bill was correct, I would not attach my check to my front door.  It is not a good idea to leave any personal information, like bank account numbers, out in the open.

In any case, I'd already informed Sandy in a voice mail, since I found it increasingly difficult to reach her in person, that my damaged fence needed to be rectified before any mowing costs owed would be paid.

In total: 4 mowing sessions of my lawn and 1 easement mowing equals a total of 5 charges of $30.00 each for a grand total of $150.00 plus PA tax,  NOT $254.40 as their bill stated.  Not only is Paul's Lawn and Landscaping not dealing with my wrecked fence her crew so thoughtlessly caused, but they are att
Response from PAUL'S LAWN & LANDSCAPING
"We really do not understand why this customer wrote this review. We mowed her lawn 7 times, this is correct. The first invoice was sent on 6/2/15 via e-mail as well as mailed to her home. It was never returned from the post office. The second bill was e-mailed and mailed on 6/26/15 and was never returned from the post office. After these two invoices went out she called our office for additional work to be done and we explained that she needs to settle her account first before any additional services can be rendered (this must be what she refers to as "chasing us down" because we were at her house for 7 weeks in a row and then stopped coming due to lack of payment). She never informed us about her fence being damaged until yesterday when she left a message on our answering machine that her fence is so "old" it will cost her $1,000 to repair it. This customer is just trying to avoid payment. She has caller ID and would not return any of our calls (and she can't read e-mail because of carpal tunnel so we could never get a hold of her) but when I used a friend's cell phone on 8/6/15 to call her about the bill she answered and said that she was out of town but not once did she mention damage to her fence the entire conversation. The first we heard of the fence business was yesterday when we said that we were coming on Fri. 8/28/15 to pick up our payment. This customer complained to us that she cannot get any contractors to do any work for her and that is because she does NOT PAY THEM! Unfortunately, we will have to settle this matter in court."

We were not at home when the work was started, but were impressed when we drove up to our home and a major portion of the pruning was done. The front yard looked wonderful. The pruning enhanced our property.
The back yard was also done to our satisfaction. It looks better since all dead plants were removed and topsoil and mulch added.
We definitely would have Paul's crew do work again, even though we felt he was a little expensive. We got great value for our money.

Per my happy description above, we are thrilled and amazed at the level of Paul's Landscaping.  We received a level of service far beyond what we were expecting or have received in the past.  Paul's provided a seamless service from soup to nuts: from scheduling the initial estimate,  arriving on time, providing an easy to read proposal, to doing a thorough and detailed spring clean up, literally leaving no stone unturned, to providing a balance due statement in a timely manner, it's A+ all the way with Paul and Sandy Astorga.

They were very disappointing. Main complaint was the lack of supervision over their workers and crews. They were improperly supervised. They did not do the job as it should have been done. I will not be using these people again.

"We are very disappointed to receive our first negative rating on Angie's list and take complaints seriously. [member name removed] hired us on October 24, 2012 (not in the beginning of 2013 as he indicated) to aerate, seed, and fertilize his property. We also delivered and spread some topsoil. He came to our home to drop off the contract because he wanted this work expedited and did not want to wait for the mail. We rearranged our workload for him and two days later did this job for him. We even blew off his leaves on his property for no additional charge. After the work was completed, he complained that we buried his water meter which is ground level and should have been marked out by him. We went back out and removed the dirt. Paul even went out personally for him. The driver is the foreman of the crew on every truck. [member name removed] could have complained directly to them and they would have resolved his issue immediately but he never did. I even called and spoke to him personally at the end of the 2013 season but there was just no pleasing him no matter how hard we tried. I wish Angie's List had a rating for customers because our rating for [member name removed] would be reciprocal."

We were very happy with them. They're very good, they do just what we want. If I want something done a certain way, they do it. They're very reliable and they're insured, too. We just have one little problem with them but it was because of the weather and the holiday so they couldn't get to us that same week. It wasn't really their fault.

Several of my neighbors in an upscale development had been using Paul's lawn service, and I was shopping for a reliable full-service lawn care, so I asked for a quote.  Weekly mowing for a 2-1/2 acre property was quoted at $80 (mowing, trimming, blowing), and a flexible 7-step fertilization program was quoted at $305 per application.  Paul's lawn care staff are mature, conscientious employees who work to relatively high standards, and the net result was that my lawn's appearance and health have improved noticeably under their care.

We called Paul because we were DESPERATE to have someone come out and take care of our property.  My husband mows the lawn once a week, or at least he tries to.  We are a very busy family, and have a pretty large lot.  Over the years, weeds have taken over our lawn, making us feel horrible every time we look at our yard!!  We needed edging and weed whacking and someone dependable to do it on a weekly basis.  So we contacted Paul on a Monday, made an appointment to meet him on Wednesday and by Friday, I had the most beautiful yard on the block!  I couldn't believe the transition.  He made my entire weekend.  My son, who is 4, said it was so beautiful, he wished it could always be like that...So I told him it will, because we have Paul.  He was really professional, and just a really nice man overall.  My husband was impressed, and that's really hard to do!  The initial price we felt was very fair considering the condition that our yard was in.  We will recommend Paul to any one we know (or in this case don't know)!
