Cut open the wall to have access to the piping and did not replace. 2/3 of way thru project got impression that he did not want to be doing the work. Removed a mirror that would not fit with cabinet.  I was not informed of this or give opportunity to make a decision.  Asked him if he could come back to do other plumbing work.  Yelled to me from his van about coming back the next week to do work, never heard back from him.

Our house is pretty old and after all of the plumbing issues we've had, we decided to have our kitchen sink/disposal replaced by a professional. After looking for a reliable plumber for months, we found Barner Murphy on Angie's List - thank goodness! Before we found them, we'd contacted about 5 other plumbers and our calls were either not returned or the plumbers were no-shows for scheduled appointments (beyond frustrating!). Barry returned my call promptly & came out a couple of days later  to take a look at what he'd be working with and provide an estimate.  He also gave us some very helpful tips for what kind of sink we should purchase and even the  type of  mounting clips we'd need in order to accommodate our thicker countertops. He basically saved us time and money right off the bat.  Barry and his colleague Matt showed up promptly and got straight to work.  Not surprisingly, the job ended up being more involved & complex due to how the previous owner installed the old sink but they handled it like pros. I'm extremely happy with the sink and I can't express how appreciative we are to have found this gem of a plumber! In a nutshell: returns calls & emails promptly, gives honest assessment of cost/job, very professional & personable.  If only there was an A+ rating.

Barner Murphy and his crew did a wonderful, professional job. Their workmanship was outstanding, they were courteous, professional, and very nice. They were very helpful in any questions we had. They were all punctual. They said it would take 3 weeks to redo our bathroom and they were done a little ahead of schedule. They were very knowledgeable in all they did and made a remodel very easy. They always cleaned up after as well. They did beautiful work from the plumbers to the carpenter, to the electrician and the tile contractor he works with. We were always kept in the loop. We would highly recommend them to do a bathroom remodel and everyday plumbing. We have such confidence in them that we will use them as our new plumbers. I moved into a 12 year old home. Items are starting to have problems. After fixing the disposal they saw the unit had a crack plus the kichen sink's piping was badly rusted. The previous owners must not have realized the toilet was flushing twice for every one flush. A huge waste of water.

Barner Murphy gets my highest recommendation. Barry is an excellent plumber and a good honest person. We needed a gas line for our pool furnace. I initially got two other estimates from local Jersey plumbers, who were suggested to us by the company that installed the furnace (but not the gas line). Both of them provided estimates close to $2000 to run 20 feet of pipe. We then called Barry because we used him in the past, and were very happy with his Work. Barry provided an estimate that was half the other estimates. Now normally; I would be highly skeptical of the lowest bidder, but I know Barner Murphy is the real deal. Barner Murphy's estimate was less for 2 reason: 1) they don't charge gouging jersey prices, and 2) Barry was willing and able to use solid pipe instead of flex pipe. Flex pipe is easier to work with, but extremely expensive. Barner Murphy was willing to spend a little more time on the job to save me a lot of money. Just to be clear, the quality of their work is superb. The township inspector commented that they did a good job as well.

Barner Murphy, specifically Barry Murphy, acted as our general contractor and coordinated all the components, from demolition through to project completion.
Everything went smoothly. At the beginning of the project, I was given a tentative schedule of the workflow, i.e.:

Day 1 -- demolition,
Day 2-5, carpentry work begins
Day 5, electrical work begins

Day 7, tile installation begins, etc.

So I was always aware of who was in my home working on which project. Barry himself installed our high-end, delicate plumbing fixtures with no problems -- including an extremely heavy cast iron tub! The few minor hiccups (which were caused by the one company I hired independent of Barner Murphy) were taken care of seamlessly and never caused me a moment's worry.
Barry and his team were always on time and would let me know well in advance if there was a change. The project started on schedule and finished well within the estimated timeframe. They were neat, friendly and most importantly experts in their profession. I was given progress reports daily and all of my questions (no matter how trivial) were answered.
If there was an A+++ rating, they would get it from me. I'm now a customer for life; in fact, I'm already planning my next project...

Appointment was made at my convenience, Mr Murphy and his assistant showed up on time, job was completed within a resonable amout of time....all important stuff.
I am very skeptical of contractors so when I called with some concerns, I didn't expect I would receive a call back, especially since I had paid for the job in full. But not only did Mr Murphy call me back (more than once), he came back to my house tweak the system as I requested. He truly stands by his work! Need a plumber??? I would defiantely recommend Bernard Murphy!

Barner Murphy plumbing is always our first choice for any plumbing issues that need to be addressed. Most recently our hot water heater would not adequately heat the full tank and one of our sump pumps was malfunctioning. After leaving a message on the company answering machine, we received an immediate call back and were scheduled for both repairs right away.
We've worked with Barry, Steve and Mat and all three are personable, professional and always do excellent work. The company has always been responsive and has communicated clearly and effectively about all work and cost. We feel very fortunate to have established a long term working relationship with a company we can trust and rely upon.

He came out first thing the next morning, changed his schedule to accomodate us. Put in a new heater before lunch. Did a great job and was neat and clean with his installation. Fixed a faulty valve at the same time. Great job - and the tenant was very happy.

He is very prompt and has wonderful attention to detail. His prices are very reasonable, and they are aware of all the current building codes and trends.
