WELLS FARGO HOME MORTGAGE

I did the application online which was not the easiest thing to do, that was little bit difficult because it tired me up. I had started this process way before I went to the hospital, last fall and it went on. I actually called the company and complained because I had qualified online for mortgage at a very good rate and they turned it over to a local producer and they sent me the papers but they sent me a rate that was much higher than the rates that I qualified for. So I did battle with them, so to speak and I went through two different individuals, called their home office, and complained but I didn’t really get much response with them. I called the manager of one of the branches and complained and it did get a return phone call from him. Then out f the clear blue, a younger man called on the phone and offered to take care of all this for me and ultimately I got my mortgage by refinance but it wasn’t easy to do and that is unfortunate. After I got everything in place, they have been more than gracious about everything. I think part of the problem was with the new regulations in mortgage and they were back piling a little bit to try to make sure that everything was all right. Because of all of that, I had to do refinancing with the company that I was with and I couldn’t go anywhere else, otherwise I would have gone somewhere else. To be very honest, I checked other places and I had a difficult time, not because of my credit rating or my finances or anything like that, it was just because it wasn’t a huge mortgage that they were going to make a lot of interest on, so nobody really wanted it and one guy outright told me that. It is over and done with and I actually saved a little over 2% of my mortgage. They have kind of an odd setup, they have banks or centers that do everything, they have some centers that just do mortgage, and they have other places that are just like a small banking operation. The thing that I don’t like about them is that most of their branches are open nine to five and if one works and is not able to make it during that time; one will not be able to drop off a payment. I can’t do that through one of their ATM’s because I need to have a banking account with them in order to have that privilege. I am one of those old-fashioned people, I like to take my payment in and hand it to them because that way I can ensure that they get it. I never met the man in person, who did my refinance. When I went to sign my papers, my sister had to drive me there because I had just got out of the hospital and the gentleman who did the closing came from Lancaster, they didn’t even use anybody local. The interaction was fine, it went seamlessly, I was in and out of there in a very short amount of time, and he wished me well. I have had contacts from the gentleman who did the refinance offering the usual stuff that they send out in the mail asking for my information. Once I got the right thing, everything was okay and he actually kept after me. He worked with me through that and he was available in the evenings if I wanted to call him and he didn’t pull any punches. He did things by the book and I think overall, it was a good experience once I got to that point, prior to that it was not.
