According to the rental contract, decorating times were to be prearranged. I spoke with Terry Quinn regarding decorating om the 26th and 27th of February. Ruth Uyvari approved the arrangement after checking the hall schedule. I was told that the tables and linens would be set up on the 26th. However when I arrived on the 26th to begin decorating, nothing had been done. Not all of the tables had been set up, the linens were still in bags on the floor, and the floor appeared dirty. My two friends and I set up the remaining tables, put linens on the tables, and began decorating. That evening, with apparent disregard to our prior arrangement, Ruth Uyvari stormed into the hall and rudely informed us we were not supposed to be there, that only one day was allowed for decorating, and the floors would remain dirty for our event. As stated previously, not only had the decorating times been prearranged with both Terry and Ruth, but nowhere in the contract does it stipulate that only ond day is permitted for decorating. As the hall was not being used, I am puzzled that Ruth made such an issue of this. Furthermore Terry Quinn unlocked the hall for us the morning of the 26th, she apparently did not have a problem with us being there. Our contract included three servers. After the cocktail hour the services took a major decline. One of the servers spent the majority of the evening drinking my alcohol and dancing rather than working. Our photographer clearly thought she was an invited guest and took a number of pictures of her enjoying the reception. Several guests took it upon themselves to begin clearing the tables of dirty dishes as this was not being done by the servers. Although our contract indicated East Penn would supply cake cutting and serving, our guests took responsibility for this action as well. In her zeal to clean the hall on Sunday morning after the reception, Ruth shattered a $75 vase I had purchased to decorate the hall. She did not even mention it until I inquired about it. I would have appreciated a little more care in handling my items.
