Phone Service - Cellular
I bought cell phone service for my teenaged son two years ago. However, when he moved out last year, we no longer needed this service. I informed Verizon wireless that I intended to discontinue service at the end of the contract period. My contract expired Feb. 21st. Yesterday, I received a bill, which included a $64.95 early termination fee. When I called to complain, they insisted that I terminted my service one day early, which I didn't. (Why would anybody do such a thing, anyway)? They also are billing me for an extra month, because their billing cycle ends on the 20th of each month, and my contract expired on the 21st. They can't have it both ways. If they are claiming, which is false, that I ended my contract on 2/20, then I wouldn't owe for an extra month. They were unwilling to listen to any logic. I am extremely dissatisfied! Verizon wireless was sued (successfully) in 2008 for exactly such practices. Well, they didn't learn anything, because they're at it again. Please: don't anyone get suckered into using this company. I'm sorry I did, and will never do it again.
