When we initially asked the Landscaping crew to come to our home for an estimate they did so and drew a plan that included an ellipse at the ending point of the pavers which were to be installed once the drainage was dug in and placed. The drainage/french drain was fine however when we had asked them to place several drains along the line so that copious amounts of water would be able to "find" the drain and flow away from our backyard they only placed one drain and we had to add four more because one drain (which we knew and why we requested more) was NOT enough. I don't think for the amount of money we spent that should have had to happen.Then when the work crew installed the pavers and low retaining wall, they started from the end where we had no patio (we already had pavers they were supposed to tie into on the one side of the new addition of pavers). The crew would take breaks and place their muddy boots on our covered patio where we had furniture and subsequently caked up all the rungs with their mud. They also left their plastic water bottles and little bits of lunch trash on our lawn until the next day. We called Nolt's and the supervisor DID come out and have them pick up after themselves but only after we had to complain. Also I pointed out that they (the workers) had placed the pavers from the opposite end of the already existing patio, when they reached the existing portion, they placed the pavers in a very unsightly line of all same size pavers so you could easily see where old met new and it looked bad. I had to ask the supervisor to address the poor design and lay out and only when he arrived was it fixed. His work crew was a very young crew and did not seem to have much experience at all even though we were told they go to EP Henry training on how to lay/place pavers. I thought they should go back for more classes. Also these young workers managed to forget to put the truck in four wheel drive when first arriving with the pavers and subsequently burned their tires as they spun up our steep driveway, creating 20 foot long black tires marks up our driveway. When asked to remedy that, they tried to power wash them off while using our water so I ended up telling them to simply stop as I didn't want to waste the water and have a higher water bill. Finally, that ellipse that was supposed to be the finishing touch was never put in and when we addressed it with the supervisor at Nolt's landscaping/nursery he came back with a figure of $1500 to add it in and he would pay half so we would only have to pay $750. We were very upset and told him no way, it should have been done right the first time. SO now we have a straight paver patio not a curved one. The retaining wall was also supposed to be curved and we didn't even address that. Looking back I wish we would have. But what is one to do? HAve to take time off to go to small claims court etc. We were very upset and frustrated and will not even purchase anything from the Nolt nursery now either. We chose to go with Nolt b/c a co-worker told us they had done a fine job. Now I wish I would have more research. I have since found a better place to do garden/landscaping/hardscaping. Please save your money and go elsewhere, not Nolt's.
