I had never redone the kitchen before, and I had to pick flooring and tile, and I worked with a woman that was so helpful and patient. It was a big project because it was a big project, because our kitchen runs into a pantry, and a laundry, and a small room. I kept on going back for tile. The workmanship was good. I need to replace the carpeting and I will go back, and deal with her. She was so good, and the project was so color sensitive. I wanted a neutral color, and it was tricky to do. She was wonderful to work with. It is hard to find the right color when you are spending thousands for Dollars. It was reasonably priced. They were professional, and it was installed perfectly, and it has held up properly. They were very creative. Our house was added on to, and so there was a seam with a door and it had to go over a bump. They matched i to match the oak cabinets, and they were willing to work with my husband so they could stain it, and sand it down.

This same kitchen faucet had been installed by them about one year before, and the hose had frayed and leaked. It had been our custom to go to a big Box outlet (Lowe's) to buy a brand name new faucet to have the plumber put in, rather than ordering from the plumber directly, as it seemed cheaper to do that. But, not the first time that these products seemed not to last, even though they are a brand name. I was blaming the plumber for a poor installation job. This time he showed me step by step what the problem was (cracked base) and how he had installed it. I took it back to Lowe's, got another one, plumber came back to install, and the fittings in the new product (Moen) did not work. While he waited I went back to Lowe's, but at the store I had to have the clerk go through 2 other faucet packages to get one where the fittings worked. The plumber then noted that the same product that he orders from his plumbing supplier seems to be of much better quality than what I would buy at Home Supply places. He said customers are afraid to order from plumbers directly at times for fear the prices would be "jacked up" by them, so he just does what the customer wants. I think I have learned a lesson from this. So what I can expect from this plumber is a reasonable degree of competence, good reliability, and a high comfort level in having them in my home. The con part is that it is difficult to schedule. They have an office person who answers promptly, but the guy who schedules has to get back to you, and you never quite know when that will happen during the day... there could be a lot of phone tagging going on. After that, pretty much they do show up when they say they will. All plumbers are expensive, no getting around that, and they are no different. Sometimes I wish the bill were itemized and more detailed. Parts are one price and a single labor price is given, so it's hard to know how many hours you are being billed for. They are responsive to complaints. Recently, the owner retired and his former manager took over.

The man showed up on time and went right to work . He was very nice. Our basement was a mess and there wasn't much light (because of the water the overhead light switch was not working) They told us it could take 3 hours or longer if they ran into any problems but he didn't have any. I couldn't beiieve how quickly he finished. After 12 days of no hot water it was great not to have to heat water on the stove. The water heater has been working great. We are very pleased with there work.
   He was suposed to also replace our furnace but he's been so busy that he recomended someone else but I think this other person is to pricey ( G.F.Bowman)  not sure what we will do because it's getting very cold out and I don't want frozen pipes
We would really prefer to lstay with Allweins.

The contractor who built this house often used the cheapest products, like the steel screws that rusted in the toilet tank. The seal was also rotted. Allwein's serviceman came the same day that I called. He immediately recognized what was wrong, and fixed it. I have used this same company for more than 30 years in my own home and rentals. They are honest, fair, and diligent.

We've had them for many different jobs. Most notable was when the main intake valve for our water supply broke off and the (competitor) guy, who was here fixing the refrigerator, didn't know how to stop the deluge. One of Alllwein's employees, Bob Kelley, left another job to rush here to fix it. Lots of other jobs have been done well by them, but that one takes the prize! We can't say enough!
