I believe in dealing with local businesses whenever possible. After meeting with David Hess and receiving an estimate, I hired him to replace a sidewalk and steps at my home. The work that was done was very nice, but there was a total lack of communication throughout. It is impossible to reach this man by phone, he simply has an answering machine. Calls were not always returned timely. It appears that no one checks the messages during the day. After several weather delays, it was never clear when the work was going to be started or completed--making it difficult to schedule my time off of work. During the process of completing the work a light post was damaged. Mr. Hess has not returned my calls regarding the damage. We also have tire tracks in the lawn to contend with. This is a shame, as I had told him when he gave me the estimate that I had other concrete work that needed to be done. I will be looking for someone else to handle the other work. Two years after the sidewalk was completed, it cracked. This is right at my front door so it's very visible. I've had the damaged light pole removed as the workers damaged the underground wiring for it. I would not recommend this business. The sidewalk and steps looked beautiful when first poured. but I never received a call back regarding the light pole and the lawn damage. I'm very unhappy with the crack.
