Plumbing
We live in a 25 year old house and we have been working on replacing the dated looks. He showed up on Friday morning to start work. He was extremely professional in his attitude. He was very willing to work around your schedule. He turned off the water and started working on fixing the leaks. After taking care of those 2 items, he then commenced to replace the outside faucets with those frost free units. Even though these we the frost free types, he also added an inside ball valve so you can shut the water off prior to the winter season. In plumbing, the least amount of joints you have, the better the chance of eliminating any kind of leaks. In other words, when he fixed the 2 joint leaks, he also eliminated one of the useless joints as he was able to get the pipe to bow slightly. At first we were a little concerned but after looking this information up in our 2012 Codebook we purchased for $100, we saw where this was acceptable. We even searched the internet. This was acceptable in US construction as well as having very few joints is code in European construction. He then turned the water back on and discovered one of the joints he repaired had a minor leak still. He remedied that problem within minutes. He was very methodical with his work. The next part of the job was to replace the shower/bath valve unit. It was getting into the mid afternoon so he asked if he could come back another day to replace the valve as it would take a little time to do this. Other plumbers in the past have balked at replacing the valve whereas this one was eager to help us out. We said sure. He asked if he could come on a Saturday (the next day). We asked if he wanted to give up his weekend? He didn't mind. He showed up early on Saturday and spent quite a few hours as the original construction by the original plumbers 25 years ago really made his job more difficult. What also added to the difficulty was that he didn't want to use his torch to make solder joints because of the nearness of the plumbing to the fiberglass shower/bath unit. He really put in a lot of work to get this done for us. It wasn't easy.
We would hire him again... He is a 24/7 type business. We talked with him and found out that he was taught by his father. His father started taking him on jobs when he was a kid. So he also keeps up with the building codes as well. He doesn't want to do anything that isn't code unlike others we found in this area.
