"I gave this customer not only a discounted price to do the job, I also discounted my hourly extras rate substantially. All I got was aggravation and limited cooperation from start to finish. I really hate to go through and itemize every little thing, so to sum up : 1) Customer wanted no input or help in picking out cabinets, tile , or fixtures. Without this help, it was an exercise in frustration. Every single box I opened was another nightmare / surprise that was either not what was quoted on the proposal, something entirely new that was NEVER discussed, or a downright mistake that was left to me to figure out and fix. I calculated that I lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 hours sorting out all their mistakes. 2) Several of the rooms were filthy with grease/dirt, roaches, or cat urine which does wonders to lower morale. 3) We trudged on, solving the problems, making everything nice, and dealt with the $5000 dollars worth of EXTRAS added. As a result of all the mistakes setting the job up, we reached a point where we had to wait for more materials/fixtures to be ordered, and the decision was made for me to come back to finish the job, which I did not want to do, but they insisted. When, after 4 weeks, I was ready to come back and finish, they told me it wasn't a good time and pushed me off. At this point, I had not only fulfilled the original contract, but 50% more work in extras. The miscommunication and lack of care or common courtesy by the customer was unprofessional and unkind. TWICE I had to leave the other job I was on and come to their home to let another contractor in while someone was home, and didn't even get a thank you. It was ridiculous. As far as the organizational issues - 2 screws went missing and I gave the customer 100 dollars of free labor in recompense! As a contractor, we try our best to make everything perfect. Every little aspect of the jobs are given the utmost care so the customer is happy. When someone turns around and makes your life miserable and thankless, it's time to go. Many thanks to the good customers who have allowed us to grow and create for 20 years!"
"Thanks for the nice work! It was our pleasure!"
"We got the chance to hang a beautiful mahogany entry door and mahogany railings here and really enjoyed the custom detail. Thanks again for being a great customer - especially the use of the pool on those hot days! cheers!"

"We always love doing crown moulding! Thanks for the nice work!"
Damon replaced a custom window and the housing around it in our foyer, replaced the wood panels next to the screen door (wood was rotting out). He also installed an attic fan. From what I could tell he was not comfortable doing the roofing work alone and had a sub contractor help with the installation. Damon worked with him every step of the fan install to insure the job was done right. I was very happy with the end results and was even more please when Damon came back a week later to insure everything was correct and touch up the flashing around the door and window.
Hands down Damon is my first choice.
"Thanks for the work, We hope to be of service in the near future!"
Once we had the drawings we went through a few more iterations of planning, and then we ordered the windows and doors. There was a lead time of about six weeks for the windows to come in, and Damon made sure he was available for the delivery time. It ended up raining the first delivery day, so we had to reschedule the delivery for the following week.
The first day of installation started a little bit late. Demolition and installation had to happen all in one day because we only have one entry door, and it was being replaced. During demolition it was determined that more new framing was needed than was anticipated. Damon was quick to handle this change. He and one other carpenter worked until dark making sure that the door and windows were installed just right. The following few days they installed the final side window, added the exterior trim, did the interior trim, and refinished the part of the floor that the old door frame was on, but the new door frame didn't cover, which was not initially in the plan.
The cost went up about 6% due to additional services that came up during construction.
When the job was finished everything looked and worked great. After a few days, the door started to stick, and after a couple of weeks it was sticking very badly, so Damon came back to remount the hinges so that the door fit correctly at no additional fee.
We are very pleased with the installation!
"This job was a long time in the planning and it was a pleasure to carry to fruition. Filling in an old South Philadelphia storefront with huge windows and a door with transom , then trimming everything with Sapele Mahogany was very satisfying. I drive past this job occasionally and love to look at it. Thanks for the great work!"
"Thank you for your kind words and for providing us such a nice project to work on. It is very gratifying to see the finished product when using such nice materials. We look forward to helping with further facelifts to your home!"
"Thisis was a very challenging job that myself and my crew are very proud of. We had to remove and reinstall several Victorian era carved wood posts after jacking up the porch roof to correct the pitch. We installed new framing and mahogany tongue and groove porch floor. The customers railing was a beautiful, traditional Victorian five piece rail system that came from a mill on the west coast. We installed that directly to the stone columns using hidden fastener system. The front facade had several paint colors and communication was difficult but we persevered and worked together to get a beautiful finished product. We thank you for the work and the kind words. Good luck for the future."
