The crew arrived promptly and worked efficiently. The wall is now neat and sturdy. Rebar reinforcement and drainage were installed. The work area was left clean and the extra soil evenly raked out.

I chose Grassworks because Tom was an honest, no-nonsense straight shooter who listened to my vision and put together a plan to make it happen while keeping costs low. I received many quotes, and many contractors played games like hard upselling, feigning complicating factors that justified higher price, etc. Not one of them listened to me and took the time to understand my vision like Tom did, and none of them provided a quote and a plan as quickly and honestly. Tom and the Grassworks crew did an outstanding job - they completely transformed my driveway, my yard... the house itself! The paverstones are beautiful, and in a city where parking is competitive and driveways highly coveted, my paverstone driveway is the envy of the neighborhood. I have a lush green yard for my daughter to roll around in. I couldn't be happier. I got a top notch job done at an amazing price, and I am very satisfied with the professionalism and honesty of Tom and his crew. Highly recommend!

THEY HAD 5 GUYS AND DID NOT CUT LAWN OR WEED WACK TO THE PROFESSIONAL QUALITY I HAVE SEEN . I COULD HAVE HIRED A KID FROM NEIGHBORHOOD AND WOULD HAVE A MUCH, MUCH BETTER JOB!!!!

Tom and his crew were fantastic to work with. I had a very small space to allow equipment through but they were able to work with what they had. The guys were punctual and very friendly. They didn't mind explaining what work was done and needed yet to be done. They even were able to build an unplanned sitting wall that we constantly get great comments on. We had a neighbor issue after the instal was done and they were able to quickly come out and help me find a solution to make everyone happy. Highly recommend.

Prompt and fast. The team got the job done in two weeks - looks beautiful. I'm considering using them on additional projects to get readily for next spring.

To start off with, I called at least 10 different local companies and they were the only ones who called me back promptly and actually showed up for the estimate on time...
I was unsure exactly how I wanted to porch and steps set up and they were AWESOME in terms of helping me with design ideas while also being very flexible even after the job started.
They were always here on time and worked hard everyday to complete the job while taking great pride in their work. 
i also had concerns about the railing and the extreme costs associated with that and they were able to help me pick out a suitable railing and install it for me which was totally unexpected and a pleasant surprise.
I have had a ton of work done on my house over an 8 year period and I can honestly say these guys were the best company I have ever dealt with. 
One of the days in the middle of the job it started to rain around 8pm and Tom drove back to my house to cover all the work they did that day and make sure that the job would continue to go smoothly. That is going above and beyond and showed me he really cares about his business and his customers.
I would recommend them to everyone I know and have already had a ton of compliments on the work they did to transform the front of my house!

AMAZING WORKERS AND AN AMAZING COMPANY!!! 

We hired Tom and his team to basically redo our small townhouse backyard from scratch. Work included design of a good plan of attack, installation of a new paver walkway and patio, placement of new sod wherever the pavers weren't, some new fence sections, and asphalt removal for conversion of a small driveway area to grass. This was a pretty complicated job in a pretty small area.
Tom was responsive to my initial request for an estimate, and came up with a thoughtful plan and estimate. The price was fair compared to other bids we received. Once we hired Grassworks for our job, they scheduled and came out quickly. We weren't home when most of the work was being done, but heard from our neighbors that the workers were friendly and took care to not be disruptive.
The quality of work and attention to detail was really excellent. We sent Tom a photo of a paver layout we liked online, and Grassworks was able to replicate the look and feel perfectly. We also asked for a few changes to the job as our thinking changed, and Tom was happy to make the changes without asking for the budget to be expanded. The whole job turned out better than we expected, and we wouldn't hesitate to hire Grassworks again. Highly recommended!

Super happy with Jim and his team and the wall they created! I had the hardest time getting contractors to come out to even look at what essentially was a small but involved project. I got very few returned calls and the teams that did come out several didn't want to take on the job. Jim was very informative, offered great suggestions and did an amazing job getting things completed within my schedule. The work is amazing!

The service went great. The pricing was reasonable. I really appreciated them being willing to do the service even though it was after season. Three technicians came out and completed the job in about 1 week. They did a beautiful job and did not cut any corners.

This job started on time and was finished in one week joust as quoted. All the workers were professional and friendly. We will definately use Grassworks on future projects.

In both instances the crews arrived on time, worked steadily and cleaned up after themselves. The stuff along the bank in particular was very heavily overgrown and they did a beautiful job! Brett offered helpful suggestions to help us prevent regrowth as well.

I worked extensively with a landscape design to draw a 3D model for what I wanted in a patio. Deck door was about 4 feet from the ground and the ground sloped even further. It was a tough project given the complexity of the wall system and integrity need to support such a structure, with main retainer wall as high as 8 ft on one side (4 of which reburried in the ground) to ensure integrity.With 3D pictures and CAD drawings in hand, I bid the project to approximately approx. 15 contractors. Some of the quotes were WILD, as such were dismissed. Tom Komar had the patience to come in couple of times to measure, and re-measure and draw plan on site to make sure that his proposal was solid. His quote was very reasonable and most of all, I felt that he took the most time in studying the project to get a clear and accurate quote I was comfortable with. He answered ALL my questions, and I had a ton of them, he was very knowledgeable and extremely honest. He was upfront, and very flexible. I must admit I am a needy customer with a keen eye for detail. Tom and his crew were extremely professional, working in the the hardest conditions (snow, wet and mushy conditions) to complete the Job. Tom never subcontracts, it is all his employees, he was ALWAYS on the Job site, and we went with the project updates everyday in the morning. The crew members were the same, day in and day out. With a project of such scale, you are bound to change configuration as you build out, and Tom was extremely flexible, accommodating my changes as required and tweeking until we were both satisfied. He has an eye for detail and a vision as well, and he made many recommendations, based on experience that ensured the patio looked stunning. I wanted to also mention that as we made these changes on the ground and in real time, he never charged any stupid change order fees or delays (Many of the changes were actually his and I am glad I listened). His ultimate concern was that the project looks the best in the end, even if it meant he was delayed by a week. In one example, as we dug up the site, we found extensive sprinkler lines in the actual building spot and he was happy to spend the time to re-route them, adding couple of days to the project. He never came back and asked for additional money. I have never met a contractor who was more focused on building a great project above anything else, as if he was building it in his own house. 
By the end of the project,  I felt like I hit the jackpot with Grassworks (as it relates to contractors). They were always prompt, on time, professional, accommodating and most of all, have an unmatched integrity.
In my extensive experience of renovating, I have not meant a contractor who is as honest and as straightforward as Tom and I happily recommend him to others. (As a matter of fact, he did another stunning project for my sister in law, and I constantly recommend him to neighbors.
