DIP 'N STRIP

The job was well done, but the cost was excessive--$400. My husband agreed to the cost, but I would never have paid that much. The short doors held a mirror, so surface area was minimal. He got the excuse that "lead paint" required special handling. I could have bought the doors for less.

I was quoted one price over the phone and that price was doubled after I drove a half-hour to his shop. I negotiated it down, but wasn't able to get near the price I was quoted over the phone. He convinced me that the work would be very difficult and time consuming. In only two days, he called to say it was complete. The price I paid him worked out to be $600 per day. I picked everything up and noticed the wood wasn't very smooth. He told me that I could sand it with 150 grit paper to get a good finish surface. After I paid him $1200, I had to take everything home and sand it myself. The final straw came when I went to finish the drawers and found that every dove-tail joint was unglued and ruined. I had to reset, glue, and clamp every drawer myself. I told him when I dropped everything off not to strip the drawer boxes - only the drawer faces. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

Work was done promptly and at a fair price.

IT HAD BEEN IN MY BASEMENT FOR 10 YEARS AND NOW IS IN MY LIVING ROOM. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY A WEEK DELAY IN DELIVERY, I WAS PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME. I HAD TALKED ABOUT HAVING THESE TWO PIECES REPAIRED FOR A LONG TIME AND I'M GLAD I FOLLOWED THROUGH.

WORK WAS COMPLETED IN A TIMELY & PROFESSIONAL MANNER.
