Remodeling Concepts, LLC

As part of a general home renovation exceeding 300K I had them redo a roof. The were to remove the entire 3/8" plywood deck : install 2 X3 sleepers and install current code required 5/8" plywood. I had previously purchased premium asphalt shingles which were staged on pallets and under tarps. As a cost cutting measure Remodeling Concepts said they would do all of the roof prep leaving installation of the shingles to the roofing contractor. Since the existing skylights were only 6 years old Remodeling Concepts were to reuse them. The roof leaked in a number of locations with the first rain. Remodeling Concepts claimed it problem was the skylights and for $5500 they would replace them. After the new skylights were installed the leaks persisted. Remodeling Concepts were out 4 additions times the first year attempting to stop the leaks. Their attempts included copious amounts of roofing cement; mis=sized lower quality shingles. Roof leak calls to Remodeling Concepts the second year were meet with claims it was the owners fault since there was a hand full of leaves on the roof. The roof leaks persisted over the next 7 years. December 2022 I stripped off 60 square feet of shingles around one of the skylights. As an architect I am aware that shingle roof installations are clearly outline in the building code and roofing manufactures installation requirements. Also the flashing methods and materials for skylight installations are clearly identified by the manufacture. From what I uncovered from my investigation filled a 100+ page report. The report include annotated photograph of what was install for the roofing prep along with screen shots of the building code and manufacture installation requirements. There was not one aspect of the roofing prep and skylight flashing that was correct. The new plywood deck was not place correctly. I had 5 roofing contractors; skylight manufacture rep; and one home inspector all concure that the roof prep work by Remodeling Concepts was seriously defective. In the end Remodeling Concepts poor excuse for a roofing job cost me $32,000 ($25,000 for new roof and skylights; $2100 for initial shingles; $5500 skylights which were not needed. When I sent my report to Remodeling Concepts I received two replies. The first, our work is only guarantee for a year. The second reply, we will give you a good price to correct the issues. I have not and would never recommend Remodeling Concepts to any client. There were also a number of other issues with their work. The building inspector had to get on their case for allowing the construction site to become a trash and safety issue. Good luck if you hire this crew.

I generally do not write Reviews but today I feel it is important to write one I have had a LEAKING WINDOW/ STUCCO PROBLEM presently and have Multiple Companies Come Look attempt to fix AND attempt to Sell me with NEW Ways as they said Fix My problem Today , Rich Savage from REMODELING CONCEPTS was out and was HONEST AND SHOWED ME that My issue was never really Repaired and hence why I have a CONSTANT LEAKING INTO HOME WINDOW He was HONEST KIND AND DID NOT ATTEMPT TO SELL ME On Doing MORE MORE AND MORE WORK TO HOME It has been So Long that I have not dealt with someone who is Honest !

I'm really surprised by the level of pride these guys take in their business. My house looks absolutely amazing. One thing that shocked me was after we decided on the siding and windows, Mark knew I was disappointed that I just couldn't afford the siding I really wanted. He could have just left it there and made his profit, but he worked the numbers and got me the siding I really wanted. When the job was done, some of the window screens didn't work quite right. I told him about them and suggested he check with the manufacturer (This wasn't a problem with installation or Remodeling Concepts.) I told him I was OK with the screens as they were and there was no need to replace them. I got a call today that they had replacement screens for all my windows (and they all work now). These guys are amazing and I'll use them again.

Their customer service was excellent and they kept you posted during every step of the project. Everyone was very patient and pleasant during a time that was most difficult for us. It was a good experience!

They showed when they were supposed to, cleaned up after themselves and just did a nice neat job.

My experience with Remodeling Concepts was poor to say the least! I was told that the project would take 2-3 weeks and was assured along the way that we were on schedule. We are 2 months out from demolition day and I am still trying to get things fixed. Dave showed up maybe 3-4 times over the course of the entire project. Every morning I was left to manage the contractors. I was given excuse after excuse, but ultimately they were working on 7 projects at the same time and mine fell to the bottom of the list! It is still not right and complete!! I would NOT recommend Remodeling Concepts even if the price seems awesome, it's not worth it

Setting up my quote was very easy and Dave was very helpful. He explained everything to me and wanted me to be informed even if I didn't choose him to do the work. The price was just right too. On installation day, the guys showed up early and got to work right away. Upon completion they cleaned up everything - you wouldn't even know they had been there! Am looking to use them for other projects I need to do on my house. Would definitely recommend!!
