The crew arrived on the day and at the time they were scheduled to arrive. They had 4 people (3 people and 1 helper) with them so they essentially progressed in assembly line fashion from window to window as follows:
1) The first person removed the existing window using a reciprocating saw, removed the pieces of old window out to his truck.
2) The next guy cleaned up the entire area and prepared the rough opening by water proofing the sill. (the first guy went onto the next window)
3) The next guy installed the new window making sure it opened and closed correctly before nailing it into place. He then sealed the edges of the unit in the wall using spray foam to ensure no drafts could get through the perimeter.
They proceeded through the entire house in this fashion until all fourteen windows were replaced the first day.
The next day, they came and trimmed the foam and installed new interior trim. Finally, the used clear caulk on the exterior of the windows to make them water tight.
Note: Above I mentioned 'almost perfect' in my narrative. I said that because the caulking on the exterior wasn't as neat as it could have been. However, it was acceptable to me. Other than that these guys did a perfect job!
