We are very pleased with the finished results of our exterior job. The team, Craig and Erin, were always very professional and worked in a very organized and methodical manner especially when they had weather restrictions (many rainy days). They kept us informed of what needed to be done around the house and when there were areas that needed to be fixed. The actual painting results showed their expertise and attention to detail. Very happy with the outcome.

I tried to contact Ville Painters through Angie's List twice over the course of about 10 days. I wanted quotes on painting my exterior eaves, and gave complete information in my contact. Another painter contacted me the next day and I am signing with him today. Ville did not respond at all to either request. Yes, it is not a big job, but why would I trust a contractor with a big job for big bucks if I cannot get the courtesy of a response when soliciting painters for a smaller job? The painter I chose is charging $500 for the complete job, and I will follow up with a review on that contractor once the job is completed. It was very disappointing for me to have this lack of response from any Angie's List vendor; a simple "thanks but no thanks" would have earned Ville an A rating for honesty and promptness, but I guess it wasn't worth their time.I

Ville painters, Shannon, Hugh, and Marco(?) arrived Friday afternoon 5/1 and began wallpaper removal - they were so enthusiastic!
Shannon and Hugh came back on Monday through Wednesday to complete the job.
I appreciated their attention to detail - the wallpaper they patched was perfectly aligned with the old wallpaper.
They made a job I dreaded for years seem easy.  The walls, moldings and doors have never looked better.
They should be proud of their work!

Two excellent painters stripped a room that had a "paper tissue" non-professional finish that had been on the walls for years.  Walls turned out beautifully.
Steve fit us into his work schedule quickly;  the painters were extremely professional, careful, and polite.

I will probably just choose to paint myself in the future as the value just is not there; particulary if you already own the necessary brushes, rollers, and other equipment.
The company and painters were professional and worked hard.  The job is quoted and is not at all detailed on a time and material basis; how then do you ever really know that you received a discounted rate on the labor advertised in their coupons?  The quotation was very clear about what is included and what is not.  I feel that too much work was attempted to be scheduled into one day and the painters are being pushed very hard for time.  As a result, quality of work was not to my expectation.  All quality issues were effectively resolved once I brought them to the attention of the company.

Ville painted our house prior to our moving in. This was the first time we had ever hired professional painters, and we were impressed. We had two painters for the majority of the time. Mike in particular, did a truly amazing job and takes painting to a new level - he treats painting like it's an art form. In general, they worked hard, showed up on time, respected our property, and cleaned up on a daily basis. They also coordinated some work in the basement with their carpenter (took out shelving, matched baseboards etc...).   While the estimate we received was on the low side, they did not upcharge us in the end. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with their work and recommend them based on the high quality of their work.
Response from Ville Painters, Inc.

"Thank you. Our craftsmen are very experienced in whole house interiors which require a higher level of service due to the invasiveness of this type of work. Thank you again for your review."

I called to make sure they do not use subcontractors and they assured me they do not and would send out two guys that could knock it out in a day and a half. The first day they were supposed to come only one guy showed up and had to do the whole job himself. After the painter had left, I took pictures of the job that was completed and emailed them to company showing them the areas that he missed. They responded promptly, and had one guy come out around dinner time to fix it. My husband had to hold the ladder for the painter when he came back to fix the job they didn't do right the first time, which I thought was ridiculous because I paid to have this service done and I don't think my husband should be there helping the painter, especially during dinner time. This painter remarked that the job was not up to company standard and when I called the owner back he said the painter had relayed to him quite a different story telling him the job was fine. He basically told me, "I just can't make you happy".

Ville Painters contracted with us to completely prep and paint our house.  They arrived every day at about 7:00 a.m. and worked with breaks consistently all day after the first two days.  The first two days they didn't work much.  I found out later that the lead painter on the job had just given his notice so I assume that is why he did not work very hard at the beginning of the job.  His helper on the first two days seemed to be new to painting.  He painted shut the frames of the windows that he painted without having the windows opened.  After that we opened the windows so that they could be opened after painting and that they would be entirely painted.  We removed all of the storm windows and we reinstalled them after the painting was done.  The house is 64 years old and hadn't been painted in a while so there was a huge amount of prep work.  The painters were here 81/2 days, sometimes with a crew of 2, 3, or 4 workers.
We felt that the painting job was satisfactory.  However, toward the end of the second week, evidently the owner started telling his crew that our house had to be finished by Thursday.  He had another job that they needed to go work on.  Therefore, the painters started getting sloppy and missing areas.  We discovered quite a few areas while they were there and they went back over them.  We also told them about a large area under an eve.  They informed us that they couldn't paint it because they couldn't get their brush in there.  My husband painted the area today.
On the last day that they were here and still working,  the Owner came to our house and asked for the rest of his payment.  I informed him that I would pay him after his crew was finished.  He told me that they would be done momentarily, but I knew that they would not be.  After that the crew rushed through their cleaning up and we let them go. We later discovered other areas that they had missed.
Also, part of their contract was to wash the windows when they were done.  They missed some of them and there is paint on a couple of them.  There is paint on a dormer window which is up high and so we are unable to remove it ourselves.
About a week after they finished the job, we contacted the Owner to send someone back to remove the paint on this window.  After four weeks he finally sent an email stating that  "We already cleaned every single one of your windows at your request (this was included in his quotation) with the exception of that dormer window. We will stop out to clean that rear dormer window, but it will be at a time convenient to our schedule."
