for the people that owned it. Turns out the people that owned it were the real estate agents that were trying to flip it.
The house was not clean when we got there, there were multiple problems with the house (leaking windows, broken gauge on the oil tank, broken thermostat, bugs, etc), and they felt no need to take care of them. Since we were there only short term and didn't want to make waves we let it go. They were showing the house while we were living there but failed on multiple occasions to give 24 hours notice that people were going to be stopping by. They constantly bugged us about buying the house and we told them many times the asking price was not worth it and the house was not going to fit our needs.
Upon move out they nit-picked everything saying "the house was clean when you got here" which was not true. The house was in better condition after we left it. Yet again we didn't want to make waves so we just let it go. We were so tired of dealing with their back a forth for three months, we just didn't want to have anything to do with them ever again!
When it came to getting our deposit back in the 30 day legal window, well that didn't happen. After 3 months we finally got (most of) our money after we had to threaten legal action. They also tried to blame us for their inability to get out to their property "fix" things.
Needless to say... there were many red flags and I should have trusted my instincts from the beginning... these people are shady and I will never use them again! And if I found a house that I loved with their sign outside I would drive away!
