NEFFSVILLE VETERINARY CLINIC

I have had five labradors and none received the care and attention that the entire staff at Neffsville Veterinary Clinic showed my most recent dog. They all were so patient, caring and loving toward my dog as well as to myself. I would highly recommend this clinic. I have never had the customer service at any other clinic. The doctors and staff are highly professional and it is evident they want the best for one's pet and as well as for the pet parent.

They are fantastic. Definitely a short wait time, I have no trouble getting a hold of them, no trouble making appointments, good facility.

We've been going there about 4 years. It costs $10 per guinea pig to have it done.

It is now 48 hours later since my dog has been diagnosed with a a 1-inch mass on her spleen and I have left two messages with the very pleasant vet techs at Neffsville and I have still have not had one word from the doctor who recommended the Ultra Sound nor from the attending vet who originally diagnosed by pet with esophagitis/GERD and put her on several medicines. I cannot believe that after two leaving two messages in two days neither Vet has called me back to go over the ultra sound and the mass on her spleen nor to go over the actual ultra sound and any other finding that the radiologist might have found. I am take my dog for laser there. But after this experience I will I be looking elsewhere for treatment for anything else that is more serious.

Took our dog into NVC on Friday August 14, 2015 because she had a sudden onset of pain in her back legs. She was seen by Dr. Amanda Rouen at 10:50 in the morning. Dr. Rouen dismissed the pain as arthritis. My wife told Dr. Rouen that this was a sudden on-set and Dr. Rouen said " this is probably going to be a chronic thing and the dog is in too much pain to do an x-ray". Dr. Rouen sent us home with an anti-inflammatory and a pain medicine. At this point our dog could still walk. We brought our dog home and gave her the medicine as prescribed. Around 5:00 that same day we called NVC again because the dog was in so much pain and couldn't walk. NVC told us to bring our dog in at 7:50 to see Dr. Sloyer who is listed on their website as an orthopedic specialist. My wife specifically inquired if they would be able to do anything that night due to the late appointment. The lady on the phone assured us "we are a veterinary hospital and will stay until your dog is taken care of". We carried the dog into the appointment with Dr. Sloyer because she was in severe pain and couldn't walk. Dr. Sloyer examined here (inflicting more pain to our dog) and then said " there is definitely something wrong but I am not sure what it is. I would have to sedate your dog to do an x-ray which means I would have to stay 3 more hours and I have already been here 13 hours and I am not going to stay". After receiving no help from NVC we took our dog to P.E.T.S. emergency treatment in Lancaster. There our dog was examined by Dr. Slajchert. After 5 minutes he was able to diagnose our dog's problem without doing an x-ray or inflicting additional pain to our dog. Dr. Slajchert thought our dog had a disc problem and needed emergency surgery if she had any chance of walking again. He gave her an injection for the pain and sent us to The University Of Pennsylvania Animal Hospital in Philadelphia.  At Penn our dog was examined by a veterinarian who agreed with Dr. Slajchert's diagnoses. On Saturday August 15th our dog was given an MRI and it was discovered she had two herniated discs in her lower back and they were putting pressure on her spinal cord. The veterinarian at Penn told us the damage to our dog was now permanent and too severe and they recommended we stop treatment. It's clear that Dr. Rouen and Dr. Sloyer have lost their compassion and purpose in being  veterinarians. I am shocked and saddened by the lack of compassion and treatment our beloved dog received. She was only 8 years old and very active. If they had done an x-ray at the first appointment, our dog might still be here today.

They took good care of him.  They explained all kinds of stuff. They all around did a great job.

They are just always friendly. I can get an appointment easily. I like the doctors there. Just all-around, I think they are very good.

Let's start with the veterinarians. I've worked mainly with Dr. Blithe for routine care and Dr. Sloyer for my dog's knee surgery. Both are great docs. Very patient with my dog (a 60 lb pit who is very friendly and also VERY high energy) and with me. I've never felt rushed through an appointment. They really listen and answer any questions I have. My dog had a very good outcome from her surgery. Both vets explained the procedure and what we should expect during her recovery. We called them with questions a couple of times and always received a prompt response. She'll probably need to have the other knee repaired and I feel very comfortable having Dr. Sloyer do her surgery.
The staff for both the clinic and the kennel are fabulous. Just like the vets, they're all very friendly and so responsive when you have any questions or need help. 
I've recommended NVC to friends who were looking for either a veterinarian or a kennel (or both). I've gone to other veterinarians and kennels in the Lancaster area, so I've got enough experience to base my comparison on. Neffville's the best.

We always have a good experience at Neffsville Vet.  We have been taking our dog there for 9 years - since he was a 9 week-old puppy.  The staff is professional and knowledgeable and the vets are excellent. We have seen all of the vets in their group over the years and we like all of them.  Dr. Kathy Nyland and Dr. Andrew Sloyer are two of our favorites. Neffsville Vet has done everything for our dog from routine care to small ailments to injuries to major surgery. Dr. Nyland has called me to discuss treatment options in various situations and to check on our dog's progress.   Dr. Sloyer  performed a TTA procedure (major orthopedic surgery) on our dog this summer for a shredded ACL and our dog came through it beautifully.  We could not have been more satisfied. A month later when our dog was bitten by another dog on a Saturday morning an hour before closing with a packed schedule, Neffsville Vet immediately took our dog for treatment and took wonderful care of his injuries.  If they had not taken him, we would have to have gone to Pet Emergency and wait, probably for several hours, to be seen. The nurses are affectionate and caring with all of the pets who come there - my dog actually jumps for joy when I say we are going to the vet! I have heard people complain that Neffsville Vet is expensive compared to other vets - we have never been anywhere else, so I can't compare prices.  I just know that the quality of care there is very high.

They got me an appt within 1 hour and saw my cat right away.  The staff is very kind and professional and the Dr. took his time and handled my scared kitty with care.
I was impressed by the facility-how clean and smelled much better than most vets do!
I will use them again-thank you!!!!

Dr. Sloyer was excellent.  He performed surgery on my dog earlier in the summer, removing several tumors and discovering the need to remove a problematic tooth.  He was very sensitive to my concerns that my older pet had never undergone general anesthesia.  I wish people doctors had his "bedside" manner!  I have confidence in his diagnosis and treatment... and would highly recommend him.

They are more friendly towards you and your pet. Their environment is more comfortable. They are interested in your pets and they don't rush you out.

Once my dog ate poison and was bleeding internally.  Though my dog was given vitamin K, he continued to bleed.  Though they did not have blood products for infusion available (something found only in large centers), one of the vets brought his dog into the office, drew blood from his dog, and transfused into my dog to stop my dog bleeding.  He clearly went over and above what was neccesay to save my dog's life.

Very sensitive staff.  Gave me a blanket to wrap her up in after the procedure.  Highly recommend

Dog was breaking out with red spots and itching all over.  Her appetite and energy level was not good.  I called and they took her right away.  We did not have to wait very long at all.  The staff and Dr's are just so caring and nice.  She had a bad case of allergies and they gave her a shot with medication for later.  She was much better by the next day.

I have only been there once but so far I was impressed because they spent a lot of time with my dog and treated her very nice. The office seems nice but the jury is still out; so far, so good, however. I will use them again in the future.

it went very well.... they gave me an idea of what the cost would be...the high and low....they were spot on.  

My dogs and cats are always treated with lots of care and love. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals they take care of.
