They are very thorough.  They finally fixed it after 2 other companies couldn't fix it.  They doubled checked that it was fixed.  They are all professional.

Each of these projects had it's issues and after never giving me a bid after having Joe out I was never planning to work with them again (mind you I even called and asked if the bid would be coming and it still did not).
The downspout cleaning went alright, but they were supposed to put a 'Y' in one of my downspouts for future clean out and instead they just cut it to clean it and patched it with white PVC (then never came back to fix it). To say I was annoyed is an understatement since I have a few inches of PVC in an old copper down spout - they never even checked with me on the materials they would use.
Never the less I had their number in my phone when a main drain in another building backed up. It took forever for someone to get back to me and then it took several calls before they finally gave me the number of a sub because they were too busy.
The third time I was pulling together several bids for a bathroom project in my home and Joe was one of them. He is a nice guy and we had a great time chatting, but he never got a bid back to me, even after I followed up - needless to say I deleted their number from my phone.
This last service call places them on my black list. A tenant of mind called Joe in to take case of a slow leak in their toilet. I came in the next day to take the carpet out of the bathroom so I could refinish the floor (not a fan of carpet in bathrooms, but it was there before I took over...). When I took the toilet out the flex line the put on all but fell off (fortunately I had the water off). Who ever in his company that did the work did not bother to make sure the threads lined up, so what must of felt like a tight fit to them was just poor workmanship. On top of that they didn't both to use thread tape in either of the connections - that is a serious no brainer...
I am very disappointed and from now on when it comes to references I will not only not recommend Joe, but I will say run for the hills even if the price is great.

After he left the first time, I turned on the faucet and water went everywhere. We called him back and he came out a second time. After the second repair the same thing happened. He came back a third time to repair the faucet. We thought that he fixed it this time but after about an hour we found he had not tightened the nut under the sink and water was going everywhere. He said he would repair the faucet but we have never heard from him since. He also scratched and ruined the porcelain which is very expensive.

Despite some unexpected circumstances regarding my service the final outcome was successful.  I now have a fully functioning bath drain, new pvc piping for my cold water line and the billing was fair for the work that was completed.

See above, DO listen to Joe's ideas. DO relax, everything went great. Besides, Joe the Plumber's estimate was the lowest of 4 and he came in within budget; he called back when I asked him to come for an estimate (3 others never did, not even to have the courtesey to say they could not come or had no time for new business). I have also used Joe the Plumber for smaller jobs. Things are always done in a reasonable time at a reasonable price.

Purchased a new home and decided to install cermaic tile in the bathrooms. The tile company recommened Joe the Plumber to lift commodes for proper tile installation. Figured since a plumber would be on hand, have other projects (faucets and shower) looked at. Was told (by owner) all work would be fairly easy. Received invoice and total price for everything was just under $1,000. I called to ask why the bill was so outrageous and the receptionist told me the following: The commodes were $225 - I was told this upfront so no problem here. The shower was an older model and they had to drive to 2 different warehouses to find replacement parts - had to pay full hourly rate for travel plus new hardware. One of the new sink fixtures to be installed was not assessed properly and the technician had to come out a second time - he didn't look at the piping and once he did realized he didn't have right equipment to finish. So I paid about $750 to have 1 dripping shower replaced, 3 new bathroom faucets installed, and 3 toilet fixtures replaced. When I paid the bill, I wrote a letter to the owner explaining my concerns and never heard back. I just want people to know he is over priced and his people don't do the job correct which means they will have to come back a second time - thus costing you more money.
