It went great. The porch floor looks great, and the two small repairs were done perfectly; one can't even tell where the work was done.

Excellent. I have several rental properties and Arjan works on all of them for me. Most recently he totally remodeled a kitchen and replaced all of the old windows in one of the units. Everything looks great and he's good about doing just the right amount of work and using the right level of materials for a rental property. Upscale enough to attract good tenants, but not over the top for the price and knowing that tenants can be **** ** a property.

The project went very well. Arjan of Hollander Builders communicated well, showed up when he promised, and provide quality materials. He was open to discussion and presented 2 proposals for comparison along with a price estimate. I stated there was no rush to the job and that he could work it in around other jobs, but his response time was fine. He completed the job in 2 visits. The work was professionally completed and the price was as expected. Arjan is very respectful and pleasant to work with. I feel he is honest and trustworthy. I would use him again for any project

It went great. It took about 2 months, but we had the holidays in between. And when I got specific about when I wanted it done, it was.  He's very cost conscious, knowing that it's a rental so i don't need top of the line products.  With some newly installed carpet as well, the house looks incredible. Better than when we bought it 30 years ago!  He recommended a type of flooring instead of carpet for the room in the house which has the most traffic, and it looks great.  I love that he can do almost any of the jobs needed for something like this.  I brought in a separate electrician for some of the work, and the carpet was installed by the vendor, but he did everything else.  He keeps me in the loop and will stop and just regroup, making sure we prioritize instead of just spending money. He was creative in solving problems by repairing something instead of just automatically replacing something that will snowball into a lot more.  He has great work ethic and very trustworthy.  He's also cheerful, up beat and honest.  Generally, just a great person.

A+! No complaints at all. We were very impressed with the quality of his work. The pricing was hard to beat, too. We'll definitely be calling him if we have other projects. Highly recommended and we hope to have them back out to do our floor.

I had my house reassessed, and my house value went up by $75,000 as a result of the work that he did. Not only is he a great guy who's very detail oriented, but he's also charming and very flexible. When I changed my mind, it didn't bother him. He was always available, and involved me in every decision. I plan on using him in the future to remodel our main bathroom! He's also full of integrity -- looking for ways to save me money. He's just a really good guy.

He is good and his price is certainly fair. He works with you to make it affordable and will divide it into stages if necessary. It all flows so well together. It looks like it belongs there. We enjoy working with him because I love painting and finishing wood and things like that. I am also the design person so I buy these things and try to decide what to do.
He is totally reliable. He has done so much for us I wouldn't dream of calling anyone else.

Hollander Builders was recommended to us by a local artist who had a loft (w/skylight) created by them. We went to met with the owner, Arjan Brandsema after seeing his work on the loft. Arjan is an extremely professional, organized and personable individual. He gave us a very reasonable quote, itemized and clear to read, with all allowances, materials, and labor costs listed so there wouldn't be any surprises. He updated it frequently as change orders came through, again, to make sure everyone was on the same page. He has an engineering degree and knows what he is doing.

We commissioned him to do a complete gut renovation of our 3-floor, 1875 semi-detached house in late 2007. He knocked down walls, reinforced joists, moved staircases, updated all the plumbing, installed HVAC, added a balcony, installed our wood floors, installed windows, appliances, cabinetry, countertops, tiled, redid our porch (stripped and added new wood), painted, and so much more. He finished the first and 2nd floors in February of 2009. We started up again on the 3rd floor the following year after we saved more money for the completion, and 'cleaned up' the basement in mid 2011. The house is beautiful now and completely unrecognizable from the dilapidated mess it once was. We have gotten so many compliments on it.

I would say Arjan's strong suit is his flexibility and professionalism. It is so refreshing, especially since the reputation of contractors can be less than good. He is completely honest, and wants nothing more than for his customers to be happy. He will work with you to come to a resolution and win-win situation. If something goes wrong, he will make it right. He is getting busier and busier, no doubt, because of word of mouth recommendations.

As far as his quality is concerned, it is very good, and guaranteed for a year. He can tear down and rebuild anything. The only thing I can say is, if your house is very old and irregular (i.e. slanted ceilings and crooked floors), he will try his best to make it more balanced and even, but the precision down to 1/32and quot; may be elusive based on the irregularities. He is also good at tiling, but odd sizes such as very large or tiny may prove to be a little more challenging. Lastly, he is very smart and can deduce the source of many problems so he can fix them. He is passionate about his work and truly cares about his customers.

I highly recommend Hollander Builders for any job, big or small.

We are really happy with his work. We are waiting for him to do some drywall but he is busy with some emergency needs now. He admits that he hates to do drywall. His name is Arian Brandsema. He was here last week because I was trying to do something myself and he fit it in and saved me a real predicament. He recommended me to an electrician/plumber that we used that is very good. He hasn't billed us for the counter so we probably owe him about $1,000. Everything he has done has been very good. He is a carpenter but he has good skills that complement that. He did a great job on fabricating the counter and he really worked with us on the design. He has always fully met our expectations and more.
