Dave's price was very "reasonably" priced for having him paint almost the entire house.  Having said that, we paid a higher price in the end for hiring him. His professionalism and pride he took in his work is what lacked the most.  He just rushed through the entire house splashing paint on the walls.  He wanted to only do one coat of paint even when the old paint was still showing through-although he did start applying more than one coat after having complained.  He got paint all over my floors, toilets, bath tub, door knobs, etc which he took no initiative to clean up after his work was finished.  The only things he cared to cover up as he painted was my couches. It has been over 6 months since having him paint, and we still find spots all over the house which still show old paint.  Each day he was here, he left my house a mess with his ladders and other equipment scattered all over my house.  I had to vacuum up after him daily because he kept saying he forgot to bring his broom which should not be my job and any good contractor knows this.  My house was tidy and organized when I left in the morning and he should have left my house with it mostly in the same condition.  He was simply cocky and arrogant!  We are first time home buyers and unfortunately we learned a hard lesson.  If someone bids a job much cheaper than everyone else--THERE IS A REASON!
