Work Suggested Open wall in closet behind shower wall to expose shower riser. Replace shower riser and personal sprayer. *Ben franklin plumbing is not responsible for patching wall! Total Estimate: $1,048.00 Work Actually Done: Found water staining on kitchen ceiling and Customer Explained water leaked through ceiling when she used shower. Ran tub and found no leak. Diverted from tub/shower and found water leaking from shower riser pipe, running down inside shower and inside wall. Water quality tested at 12 grains hard and 0.3 ppm chlorine. Tried to sell me on WATER TREATMENT between Option #1 , 2, 3 an 4. Cost ranged between $2587 to $4988. Collected service call fee today. 76.00 ( guess that was the cost for the water test ah.....I never needed or wanted). Day #2 Contacted another plumber following day. WORK PERFORMED or Recommended. Plumber was able to repair & replace Shower arm with an extractor. Installed new arm & tested. Cost: $84 for service fee and $150.83. Total cost: $234.83 So BEN FRANKLIN PLUMBING wanted to charge me $1048.00 to fix my leak and mind you was not responsible for patching wall and 2nd plumber I contacted was able to repaiR AND replace my problem for $234.83.
