Worked on project for 6 months (should have  taken 2 months) and did not complete (breach of contract).  He did not build dormers that were included in contract.  Most things had to be reworked to be done correctly. He showed up most days at lunch time and then would say he had to leave earlier than he wanted to because his helpers had to go.  He did not have a crew.  He had at least 5 different helpers and none of them knew how to do anything.  The first floor was not kept dry due to improper covering and was soaked several times resulting in approximately 8,000 dollars in damage. One example of his poor construction skills is the shingles. The rows are crooked and so bad that he had to put in a filler row.  He seemed to be unable to get the 16 inch centers for construction since he had to put in nailers all over to fasten the plywood.

Jim removed the microwave as we requested, then gave us an estimate on what it would cost to install a cabinet and vent hood over the stove. The price was agreeable to us. He always showed up when he said he would. He paid close attention to measuring and made sure that everything was as it should be.
We did have a few problems with this job. It took a VERY long time -- he was out to our house at least five times, possibly more, over the span of three weeks. Some of the trips he made seemed really unnecessary. When he finally did come out with someone else to help him on the job, it took six hours to complete. He was really chatty, and that often seemed to cut into time he should have been working.
In the end, we were happy with the cabinet and the vent hood, but we weren't pleased with the marks on the wall that were left after the installation. We will have to paint or somehow cover that up very soon. We were also not pleased with the extensive amount of time and all the visits it took to simply get ready to install it all. This was a job that could have been done much faster.
