Max did this job practically on his own and took the utmost care with every aspect of the job. He's been doing this since he was a teenager and knows his wood flooring inside and out. He recommended high quality yet reasonably priced planking. He removed old builder-grade pre-finished hardwood, carpeting and tile, prepped sublfoors, laid moisture retarder, etc. He made the most of the new wood using the longest pieces in the most conspicuous areas to provide the most seamless look. He did several sandings keeping the dust well contained, covering the vents and speakers, and cleaning up thoroughly after. Don't fall for contractors advertising dust-free sanding - there is no such thing, the best results are obtained from experience and taking good care, not expensive equipment. Max helped us select the right stain by showing us many samples on the actual sanded floor, carefully brushed on 3 coats polyurethane, installed shoe molding and flush vents stained to match. He worked long days back-to-back to complete the job on time before our move-in date despite having to leave the country due to a family emergency and despite being in high demand and having many demanding customers. He always showed up when promised. Max doesn't put the most professional front on his business, he excels at his job not at marketing. But his many references keep him very busy. And he is easily among the least expensive finishers in the western suburbs.  If you are looking for the best possible product in a traditional site-finished hardwood floor you can't do better than Max.

Max was a true professional who spent almost two hours (we had a lot of questions) at my house quoting the job and discussing our options and his recommendations.  His attention to detail throughout the planning and installation job was outstanding.  Max has a lot of experience working with interior decorator's, and all of his recommendations were spot on.  The final product looks incredible.  His price was competitive but the value received exceeded all expectations.

It was a positive experience. Max worked really hard and was very professional. He communicated with me regularly on status and cleaned up really well before leaving. He cares very much about the quality of his product and his work. His price was very reasonable. It was a little hard to get in touch with him as we had a major job coordinating between some other people and him and also my wood was backordered. So the planning and coordination went on a bit longer than anticipated but worked out great in the end.
